Son Of A Goat: 1979 Pontiac Grand Le Mans

Looking for a car that no one at your local Cars and Coffee will have?  The Pontiac Le Mans was a obscure and slow selling GM A-body chassis.  Today's example has been given the restomod treatment on the inside and out.  The malaise spec engine was swapped for a much more stout 69 GTO 400 HO V8 and 3.73 posi rear end which should provide plenty of juice to melt the larger than stock 17" tires with any prod of the right foot.  There is not much to fault on the paintwork from the photos and the interior seems equally clean.  Find this 1979 Pontiac Grand Le Mans for sale in Ludlow, MA for $11,000 via craigslist.

Fiero In Yellow: 1980 Pontiac Fiero...ummm...Ferrari 308 GTBi Replica

Most of the Fierrari out in the wild are obviously kit cars and painted red...but this next example is a shade of LOOK AT ME yellow and shockingly Ferrariesque.  Find this 1980 Ferrari 308 GTBi Replica offered for $11,000 in Alhambra, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Rock On!

Ol' Betsy: 1954 Chevrolet Pickup

Nobody respects a perfection condition shop truck.  If it doesn't have some dings and dents in the bed, then you aren't using the truck as it should be.  Perhaps this next pile of rust might be a bit too far gone for daily driving, but you could certainly justify the exposure to tetanus for a weekend Lowes Despot hauler.  Find this 1954 Chevrolet Pickup offered for $6,500 here on eBay buy-it-now or make-offer located in Sacramento, CA with 2 days to go.

Red, Right & True: 1995 Chevrolet Corvette

Would you eat a sandwich that was left outside overnight if it was a good deal?  What about moldy cheese or only slightly moldy cheese at a big discount over non-moldy cheese.  If you think that eating slightly spoiled food to save a buck, then why would you ever buy a new car?  Find this 1995 Chevrolet Corvette here on eBay offered for $13,900 buy-it-now or make-offer in Anaheim, CA with 16 days to go.

Rare Ragtop: 1959 Nash Metropolitan Convertible

This next car comes from tipper Rod444 who included some analysis with his tip:  Sure you've heard of a Nash, and probably a Nash Metropolitan if you're a car guy, but how about a Nash Metropolitan convertible? Not your typical Sunday cruiser but this one looks like a viable candidate for a great restoration.  From this 1959 Nash Metropolitan Convertible offered for $2,900 in Scottsdale, AZ via craigslist.

Thirtieth Anniversary:1997 Mercury Cougar XR7

The 30th anniversary gift for a wife is supposed to be diamonds or pearls, but I think that is a total load of DeBeers funded hooey -- and anybody who really loves (and is still married to) his cougar after three decades would get her a Mercury. Find this 1997 Mercury Cougar XR7 offered for $1,750 Ft Myers, FL craigslist. Tip from Dascpcu.

Str8 Ate: 1952 Packard 250 Deluxe

This next car comes from tipper John H who writes:  Not my car, just something I spotted on CL. It's a rather stodgy but handsome beast in grey and chrome and white sidewalls. Looks to be very original and absolutely immaculate - 65 years old and cleaner than any car I've ever owned (but then I've never owned a car with only 53K). Gotta love the herringbone upholstery and not just one, but two sets of fuzzy dice. Located in east-central Wisconsin, not far from Green Bay.  Find this 1952 Packard 250 Deluxe offered for $6,500 in Shawano/Clintonville/Wausau & other unpronounceable parts of Wisconsin via craigslist.

Rat Rod Lincoln: 1949 Lincoln Cosmopolitan

The original version of Hot Rod Lincoln by Charlie Ryan was a good song in its own right, but it wasn't until the 1971 cover by Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen that the V12 Lincoln got the true fame that it deserved.  Sometimes, the remake is better than the original, and I just hope that holds true when the next owner decides to re-invent this classic.  Find this 1949 Lincoln Cosmopolitan offered for $3,900 in Ft Myers, FL via craigslist. Tip from Dascpcu.

These Colors Run: 1979 Chevrolet Corvette

The late 70s were a terrible time for car enthusiasts -- and I'm sure the older folks in the crowd will remember the L48 V8 powered Vettes and what absolute DOGS they were. Actually, that's an insult to dogs because the average dog could not only catch an L-48, it could do it with such ease that it could actually pee on its tires while chasing it on three legs!  Thankfully this next Corvette has had the L48 removed and recycled into a dog water bowls, but the seller has replaced the engine with a beastly 427 and covered it with an homage to America.  Find this 1979 Chevrolet Corvette offered for $35,000 in Mobile, AL via craigslist.  Tip from Wesley.

Buf'd Turbo: 1985 Buick Riviera T-Type

The Buick Riviera appeared on the automotive landscape in 1963 as a personal luxury coupe on the E-body platform (later shared with the Eldorado and Toronado), but in rear-drive only configuration. A few decades later and somehow the Riviera managed to avoid the front wheel drive fate that destroyed its friends and there was even a turbocharged V6 version for the ultimate in personalized luxury something.  Find this 1985 Buick Riviera T-Type offered for $6,700 in New Haven, CT via craigslist.

The Northern Star: 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT V8

The Pontiac Fiero was so close to greatness.  It had an exotic mid-engine setup, a plastic composite body, and the combined engineering might of the best at Pontiac to make it demolish all takers...but what happened?  Why did it get the same treatment as the Banshee from the 60s...were the guys at GM's Corvette division really that insecure?  Yup.  You bet.  Find this 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT V8 offered for $8,500 in Lake Geneva, WI via craigslist.  Tip from Rock On!

2006 Lamborghini Murcielago Replica Project

An oft repeated story is that the tractor manufacturer Lamborghini started building fast exotics because Enzo Ferrari would not build a special car for Mr. Ferruccio Lamborghini. People do the strangest things when motivated to succeed. Perhaps the builder of this next thing wanted a Lamborghini, but didn't want to pay the crazy premium for a modern exotic or perhaps he wanted to besmirch the good name of Lamborghini...either way, this thing makes a statement.  Find this  2006 Lamborghini Murcielago Replica Project offered for $12,000 near Atlanta, GA via craigslist. Tip from Richard.

Custom Interior: 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa

When it was first released in 1960, Sports Car Illustrated called the Chevrolet Corvair “the most profoundly revolutionary car … ever offered by a major manufacturer.” The second generation Corvair offered from 1965-1969 was both the evolution and the swan-song for GM’s domestically produced answer to the onslaught of imports.  For a brief moment, there was a Corvair for just about every garage, as it was offered as a two door, four door, station wagon, pickup and convertible.  Find this 1965 Chevrolet Corvair Corsa here on eBay bidding for $8,100 reserve-not-met with 4 days to go, located in Florence, AZ.

Cowlabunga Dude! 1986 Pontiac Fiero V8

A cowl induction hood is designed to capture the high pressure air that is being forced over the windshield and force some of it into your engine compartment and, presumably, into your engine to make more of the boom-boom zoom-zoom.  Hillbillies, F-body aficionados, and fiberglass hood repair men love them...but..I can't really imagine why you'd stick one on the front of a mid-engined car? Find this 1986 Pontiac Fiero V8 offered for $8,500 in Niles, IN via craigslist.  Tip from Rock On!

Flathead Power: 1953 Ford F-250 Pickup

There is something timeless and endearing about a classic American pickup.  The owners/drivers don't speed like a black Audi or cut you off accidentally like a Prius -- and the simple sight of these always puts a smile on my face.  I don't have an old round fender pickup in my garage, but if I did, it'd look like this 1953 Ford F-250 Pickup offered for $7,500 in Naples, FL via craigslist.  Tip from Dascpcu.
