Mixed Breed Fighting Bull?- 1999 Lamborghini Diablo VT Replica

It is kit car Sunday here at DT!  We have a duo of gull-wing cars for your reading enjoyment.  First up is real mongrel of a vehicle that started life as a 1987 Fiero.  The chassis was stretched and then fitted with a pretty convincing Diablo VT body kit, proper fitting Compomotive wheels, and a cocaine white paint job.  At this point you may be expecting some sort of General Motors drivetrain swap, but this beauty throws us a curve ball with a Honda VTECH V6  and auto trans under the bonnet.  This car is such a odd duck that it is best to let the pictures and two videos do the talking.  Find this 1999 Lamborghini Diablo VT replica for sale in West Babylon, NY for $24,500 via craigslist.

V10 LAMBORGHINI ENGINE: 2008 Audi S6

You know you want this.  Don't try and hide behind some kind of self righteous wall of excuses about the environment, your ability get to work on time, or how much you'll spend on maintenance because it really doesn't matter AND I'M NOT BUYING IT. YOU WANT A LAMBORGHINI V10 POWERED SUPER SEDAN...EVERYBODY WHO CAN FOG A MIRROR OR MASH A GAS PEDAL DOES.  Find this 2008 Audi S6 offered for $10,000 in Ridgewood, NY via craigslist.  WHY AM I SHOUTING?  Tip from FuelTruck.

Murican Lambo: 1985 Pontiac Fiero Countach Replica

The Lamborghini Countach is widely considered a 1980's super car icon and clean examples now command upwards of a quarter of a million dollars.  What are your options if you have a DT budget level and have the fever for Lambo doors and spaceship-like looks?  The answer is found in plain sight with today's Euro Works LTD body kitted and V8 engine swapped Pontiac Fiero.  The Euro Works kit looks shockingly convincing due in part to the lengthened Fiero frame which help get the proportions right.  The 10k asking price does not seems too eye watering, but this mongrel is need of final assembly though it does start, stop, run, and drive.  Find this 1985 Pontiac Fiero for sale in South Windsor, CT for $10,000 via craigslist.

Style Over Substance: 1984 Fierorghini Countiac

"Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?  The Shadow knows..."  Those are the words that popped into my head when I saw this next car...and it is a scary looking thing...but the more I look at it...the more I like it.  I must be running a fever or maybe I need more whiskey.  Find this 1984 Fierorghini Countiac offered for $7,000 in Hayward, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Rock On!

Vee Ten: 2008 Audi S6

A huge engine in a medium size car is a formula that never seems to get tired.  With the advent of modern turbo set ups, the old adage of there is no replacement for displacement is being put to the real test though.  Back in the mid 2000s, Audi and BMW both deemed that a V8 engine wasn't enough cylinders for their highest performing mid side sedans.  The Audi S6 and BMW M5 changed course and went to V10 engines for this generation of cars.  The magic power of depreciation brings us a Lambo derived and glorious sounding V10 German super sedan for under 10 grand!  Find this 2008 Audi S6 for sale in Prospect, CT for $8,700 via craigslist.

2006 Lamborghini Murcielago Replica Project

An oft repeated story is that the tractor manufacturer Lamborghini started building fast exotics because Enzo Ferrari would not build a special car for Mr. Ferruccio Lamborghini. People do the strangest things when motivated to succeed. Perhaps the builder of this next thing wanted a Lamborghini, but didn't want to pay the crazy premium for a modern exotic or perhaps he wanted to besmirch the good name of Lamborghini...either way, this thing makes a statement.  Find this  2006 Lamborghini Murcielago Replica Project offered for $12,000 near Atlanta, GA via craigslist. Tip from Richard.

2004 Lamborghini Gallardo 6-Speed

Part of you, however, wants to go all-in for the most impractical show of excess that you can possibly get for the money. Lambo Mufflers: 1980 Volvo 262C Bertone V8 Custom

The Volvo 262C Bertone was a variant of Volvo's 200-series that featured a chop-top vinyl covered greenhouse and assembly at the Bertone factory in Turin, Italy.  It all sound great until you realize that it was powered by a French V6 -- except for this one today.  Find this 1980 Volvo 262C Bertone V8 Custom here on eBay bidding for $3,809 reserve-not-met with $8,900 buy-it-now located in Oklahoma City, OK.

10k: Needs Wash and Service: 2003 Lamborghini MurciƩlago

The Lamborghini MurciĆ©lago was the first new model released by Lamborghini after its acquisition by parent company and global super power Volkswagen.  The name MurciĆ©lago was, in the Lambo tradition, named after a famous Spanish fighting bull and as such should be pronounced not like an Italian name, but like the Spanish word for bat or in Castilian Spanish: "murĪøiˈelaÉ£o," the Īø being shorthand for a voiceless dental fricative.  A voiceless dental fricative is actually the noise you make from inside your $300k Lambo moments after being rear ended by a Dodge pickup, but just before the flames start to lick your eyeball like a Japanese school girl.  Find this 2003 Lamborghini MurciĆ©lago that needs a good buffing and oil change for sale in Baton Rouge, CA for $11,600 or offer via ebay.

5k: 1983 Lamborghini Jalpa; Some Assy Required

The Lamborghini Jalpa is a lesser known little Lambo built from 1981-1988.  It has the distinction of being one of the higher production Lamborghinis equipped with a V8 engine, with a total of 410 produced.  The name Jalpa comes from a breed of fighting bulls and it looks like today's featured bull has been stuck with a few too many banderillas and is one chop with an estoca away from the glue factory.  This 1983 Lamborghini Jalpa is offered for sale in Baton Rouge, LA and is currently bidding on ebay at $3,350 reserve-not-met with 2 days to go.
