 Singer Motors Limited was founded in 1874 as a bicycle building business out of Coventry, England -- but it wasn't until the 20th century that founder George Singer began making motorized 2-wheel, 3-wheel, and finally, 4-wheeled vehicles. Fast forward a few years, and it was taken-over and run into the ground by the Rootes Group, but not before they built a few cool cars like the 4AD Roadster. The Lost Princess: 1964 Vanden Plas Princess 4-Litre R

BMC in the 1960s was well on its way to becoming the behemoth British Leyland, creating new badge-engineered models at a rate even GM would baulk at. The most radical however, was based on the large Austin A110 saloon, was this Vanden Plas. The bodywork was made more upright, removing fins and a higher roof, but that wasn't the most significant change. That was left for under the bonnet, where a 4-Litre Rolls-Royce engine could be found, sourced from their Ferret military vehicle. The Fiat 128 was a front drive econobox that was released before the roads around the world were clogged with similar piles of garbage, which makes it innovative or hated depending on how you feel about front-drive econoboxes.  Personally, I'm ambivalent and prefer to treat them like slow moving chicane cones with a variety of high horsepower proper-wheel-drive vehicles, but sometimes you just want a fuel efficient box with wheels.  Find this 1977 Fiat 128 3P offered for $6,000 in Tacoma, WA via craigslist. Slow But Cheap: 1987 Nissan Skyline R31

Mention the name Skyline to anyone who grew up playing Sony's Gran Turismo and they will instantly think of the tire blistering turbocharged all-wheel-drive GT-R version, but Nissan built many more examples of the regular Skyline that was less Daisy Duke and more Driving Miss Daisy. The Fiat 128 might not be well known around these parts, but it was built in Italian factories (and then later around the world) starting in 1969 and continuing all the way through 1985 with over 3 million cars leaving the assembly lines.  Licensed versions of the 128 were built in Eastern Europe and the Third World all the way through 2001, and it was rumored that Enzo Ferrari had one as his daily driver.  Find this 1975 Fiat 128 Wagon offered for $3,200 in Lynden, WA via craigslist.
