Jaguar coupes have been gorgeous cars since Ernesto Jaguar was a little boy sketching his designs on Big Chief Tablets, and the X100 generation XK was no exception.  Assembled in Coventry from 1997 through 2006, the XK added some soft lines to the angular XJ coupe and evokes the legacy of the E-Type.  Mechanical & electric parts aren't as troublesome and "release the smoke" prone as stuff from the 80s, but it isn't going to be as reliable as a Toyota or Ford or SsangYong...and the interior is only one frilly lamp shade short of being an actual brothel parlor (thanks doctordel!)...but it's a Jaaaaaaaag.  Find this 2003 Jaguar XK8 Coupe here on eBay offered for $11,900 or best offer in Pompano Beach, FL.

Mazda Inside: 1967 Jaguar XKE E-Type Kit

Every time I make a blanket statement, I get in trouble.  Arrgg...I just did it again.  The statement I made the other day was something about kit cars being mostly replica Cobras and things based on Volkswagen Beetle chassis and that the Jag kit was interesting and unique...and then we got a tip for another Jag kit car, this one based on an RX-7, complete with 13B rotary power?  Whaaa??  Why didn't I know about this?  Who wouldn't want the nimble reflexes of an FB RX-7 mated with the gorgeous looks of an E-Type convertible...even if it is a "gasp" kit car.  Find this 1967 Jaguar XKE E-Type Kit offered for $22500 in West Babylon, NY via craigslist. Needs Mohr Cylinders: 1951 Jaguar XK120 Kit Car

When somebody says "kit car" I instantly think of Cobras, 550 Spyders, 356 Speedsters, Lotus things, and Kustom Fieros made to look like Ferraris...but I have never really thought about Jags.  Particularly XK120 looking Jags from the 1950s that just need an injection of V8 to get going.  Now, I know what you're thinking. You're gonna stick a Chebby 350 mated to a TH350...but don't do it.  Slap some sense into yourself and get a V12 -- maybe a 6 liter BMW N73 V12 good for 439 horsepower or a  6 liter W12 from a VW/Audi  also good for 400+ horsepower or be a real man and drop a Rolls Royce Meteor V12  which is a 27 liter tank engine for those who've been out of the loop.  GET INTO THE GAME, SON!  Find this 1951 Jaguar XK120 Kit Car here on eBay offered for $19,900 in Miami, FL.

Two Tone: 1974 Jaguar XJ6 V8

There is an older gentleman who drives a similar commute time to me (well...that was before the coronavirus...now my commute involves putting my temporary desk together in my room and avoiding the wife/kids by pretending on a conference call...but that's a story for another time) anyway, this guy has an XJ6 Coupe that has a particularly jaunty rumble coming out a set of dual pipes..and I suspect it is small block V8 conversion, but I can't be certain...and what this guy needs to do is to add some custom body paint accents and white letter Cooper Radial tires to let us all know that he's driving a muscle Jag. Tom Wilkenshaw Racing Kit: 1990 Jaguar XJS

I haven't made up my mind about this next car...so I'm going to post it and let you guys tell me if it is right on the money or a bridge too far.  Anyway, the background behind this car is that back in the 80s the management at Jaguar didn't want to spend the money to go racing, but a fellow by the name of Tom Wilkenshaw ran a privateer entry into ETCC (European Touring Car Championship) Group A (that's the big boys) and it was a success.  Watch some on-track action here.  Regardless, the seller tells us that Jaguar sold some 250 examples of the TWR racing body-kits and only 50 remain...various websites both confirm and refute this suggestion...and to be honest...I dunno. I love it when a craigslist advert concludes with a statement like: They need to be trailered, don’t expect gleaming beautiful cars, they need work.  This isn't a seller trying to pass off his project as something it isn't -- this is a seller who wants to sell.  And its probably where anybody would be if you had 24 cylinders of Jag in your driveway and none of them particularly sea worthy. I have to admit that I'm not 100% up-to-date on the market for mid 1960s Jag S-Types...but I can tell you without looking that getting a running/driving example for $4k in today's market of over-priced and over-hyped junk (looking at you Porsche 911) is a breath of fresh air.  Actually the air behind this thing will be smoggy cancer causing mud, but you get the drift.  Okay, I just looked it up -- Hagerty says a #4 fair condition version of this car is worth something around $18k, so this is a smashing deal. This next car has me scratching my head.  And my leg.  And my back...oh no, that might be fleas or bedbugs...but I'm still totally and completely and utterly flummoxed by this next car. On the one hand, I hate it when people shove carburated small blocks into classic inline-6 powered Jags, but I don't mind so much when they keep them inline-6 powered...but...an AMC 4.0 liter straight six from a Jeep? This next car came with a burst of small block enhanced déjà vu.  I swear I've seen this exact same car before...offered for a same price..but it appears the car listed here in 2017 for roughly the same price and condition is NOT the same car but a doppelganger.  So...do the same reasons for featuring that car still apply?  You bet!  The added reliability and reduced cost of the Chebby swap makes me wanna have a V8. Blown Grand Tourer: 2007 Jaguar XKR

This next car is a two parter. The first part came from tipper Jeff who writes: I love this era of the Jaguar. I know Ford's ownership of Jag effects the pedigree of the brand a bit as the V8 drivetrain used was basically the same engine found in the Mustang, but c'mon.... this is a close as you'll ever get to looking like a late model Bond/Aston Martin car without spending anywhere near the coin. The Supercharged version of this same car (the XKR) is an even better example of bang of the buck. This email was followed a few minutes later by... Aaaaaand per my last email.... a 2007 Jaguar XKR. GRR8KAT: 1991 Jaguar XJS

The Jaguar XJS was a luxury grand tourer that survived with only a few changes over an impressive 21 year lifespan.  Production of the Malcolm Sayer and Doug Thorpe designed 2+2 started in 1975, had a minor makeover in 1982, and a more significant re-design in 1992 and the last cars left the factory in 1996.  Today's example is a really nice preserved example in British Racing Green with a saddle tan interior and a very reasonable asking price.
