Unlike the Wagonaire, Daytona, and R-Series cars, the Studebaker sedans have always been fairly cheap. But this one in particular is ludicrously cheap. We know that it's three speed with two synchros is likely dead but unless the frame is about to snap, it's still a phenomenal bargain. If you have heard of the small Spanish motorcycle manufacturer Gas Gas, you've probably heard about them via motorcycle trialing. From its inception in 1955 to the end of the line in 1975, the DS was always ahead of its time. From the oleopneumatic suspension to the semi-automatic gearbox it was truly revolutionary. However, in post-war France, development costs had to be cut, so the engine was always a bit pedestrian for the DS; it had its origins in the pre-war Traction Avant. By 1970 however, the engine got its chance in the form of electronic Bosch fuel injection, becoming an early adopter of injection. With the meteoric rise in prices of all air cooled Porsche's, it is a valid question to ask whether there are any bargain Porsche's left in the wild? The 996 generation of 911's can be found for pennies on the dollar compared to it's 993 predecessor. IMS bearing failure seems to be the big boogie man in the Porsche used car world. if it's not rusty. Only one picture, and I'm guessing it's not

Normally I steer clear of dealer listed CL ads. The incompetency of what they are selling and the literary wooing & schmoozing leaves a die-hard car affection-ado with a bad taste in the mouth. But sometimes...one in a while...I stumble across a vehicle that is worth the attention and a quick rinse with the strongest mouthwash I have on tap. The Paul Bracq styled W108 generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class is one of the better ways to get into a vintage sedan for a semi-daily driver. The performance is acceptable, ride is comfortable, build quality is exemplary, but most importantly -- drive one and you'll look like a king. Out of all the Paul Bracq designed classics (and there are many) one of my favorites has to be the E24 6-series, which certainly isn't the most beautiful (W113 Pagoda 280SL is the most beautiful), but it offers a level of elegance, class, and sophistication for a paltry price.
