If you have heard of the small Spanish motorcycle manufacturer Gas Gas, you've probably heard about them via motorcycle trialing. Gas Gas got their start when two ex-Bultaco guys started hand building trials bikes in 1985
. You'd be forgiven not knowing that they began building enduros in 1989 and still do today. Find this 2004 Gas Gas EC300 for sale in Federal Way, WA for $1,800 via craigslist.
The EC or Endurocross was an off-road enduro or dual sport powered by a two-stroke engine. Prior to 2007, the body color of the EC denoted its displacement. This bike being blue, meant that it was powered by a 299cc liquid cooled two stroke. Gas Gas EC's were known for their "Power Chamber" design that featured and adjustable power valve on the engine. The power valve allows the rider to adjust the performance characteristics of the bike by varying the exhaust port size. Some EC's were equipped with electric start, but this one is an ALL CAPS kicker.
This EC has been kitted out with road equipment and is licensed for on-road in WA. It's a plus in Washington as bikes have to be road licensed to ride the Forest Service roads that connect off-road trails.
