About eight years ago, I was driving down the Merritt Parkway in my BMW E30 with my then girlfriend. We got passed by late model VW wagon full of kids. I noticed a Big Lebowski Abide sticker on his back bumper and to the dismay of my girl sped up to give him a crazy eyed thumbs up. The look on the drivers face was priceless and he returned a thumbs up back with enthusiasm. Today's victim has about twenty stickers scattered about the car's sheet metal. The Plymouth Duster was a short lived (1970-1976) fastbackish variant of the Plymouth Valiant/Dodge Dart A-body sedan by Chrysler. The Duster is a relatively cheap way to get into a piece of classic Mopar that might not have the cachet of the 'Cuda but prices are more reasonable. The Dodge Dart was one of the most durable cars of the 1970’s. The inline slant 6 engine garnered a reputation for being nearly un-killable. Most cars back them didn't even have a six digit odometers. The slant six was offered in almost every car and truck in the Mopar line up. The third generation Dart was produced from 1967 to 1976. Car designs started to evolve around new crash standards resulting in...well lets just say it wasn't pretty. Most North American cars were utilitarian in design with minimal differentiation from one brand to another.
