Read Matt's Story About CFlo's Old Volvo 240 on Hagerty.com

This next feature isn't a car offered for sale...but it is a story about a car that was sold from DT's own editor CFlo to DT's feature writer Matt.  The next 58 hours and 2764 miles of Matt's life was far from boring and Matt was nice enough to document it here on Hagery.com.

Auction Watch: Matt's 1991 Peugeot 405 Mi16

My cushy and reasonably quick French luxo-barge that I rely on for daily transit, once featured on Daily Turismo a couple weeks ago, is now on eBay for nearly free. Find this 1991 Peugeot 405 Mi16 here on eBay in Charleston, SC for a starting bid of $200 with no reserve. By purchasing this car, you can rest assured knowing that what was formerly your hard earned money will be blown on something completely sensible, like a big friggin' turbo for a VL Commodore if things go really well. If not, I guess I'll settle for a new transmission jack. Mention Daily Turismo upon handing over cash and I won't try try to replace the battery with a crappy one before you take the car.

Mission Creep: 1971 Ford Thunderbird

As the TV show The Wonder Years grew up with its audience, so did the Thunderbird. The trim, stylish dude with a pack of cigs in his sleeve who bought a '55 could stroll right back in to the Ford showroom sixteen years later in a bowling shirt covered in mustard and still find his dream T-bird waiting for him. Find this 1971 Ford Thunderbird here for sale in Ft. Meyers, FL for $5,000 via craigslist.

Needs a New Six: 1973 BMW 3.0S Bavaria

The E9 3.0CS is perhaps the better known of BMW's late 60's to early 70's shark nose New Six designs, however, these days the 'C' stands for costly as they are rapidly shooting out of the realm of affordability. Worry not, there remains some refuge from market valuation in the E3 sedan, or Bavaria.  Find this 1973 BMW 3.0S Bavaria here for sale in Cumming, GA for only $1,500 via craigslist.

Row Your Boat: 2002 Lincoln LS 5 Speed

Lincoln tried to change their act around Y2K but got their pee-pee slapped pretty dang hard. As a result, it's no wonder they surrendered the American enthusiast sedan market to Cadillac shortly thereafter. Put a positive spin on it and the Lincoln LS is essentially a 4 door Mustang with independent rear suspension and an available manual transmission. Look at it as a pessimist and it's just another millennial American sedan shrouded in crappiness.  Find this 2002 Lincoln LS V6 with a clutch pedal here for sale in Port St. Lucie, FL for $2,400 via craigslist.

Beautiful Splinters:1958 Kellison J4

Jim Kellison, founder of Kellison Engineering, could be considered the Bob Dylan of kit cars. Taking a concept that was initially fringe and backyard and turning out countless bodies of work, Kellison made over 20 different models available in either shell or turn-key form. Find this 1958 Kellison J4 for sale in Centralia, WA for $5,500 via craigslist. Tip from BuickFan

Dirt Yourself: 1960's Custom Dirt Super Modified

Checker or wreck 'er. Win it or bin it, so they say. Getting involved in vintage racing is a very appealing proposition for those who give zero effs. It's those with the Ferrari 250-somethings that have something to lose. So why not find some pedigree in the cheapest way possible and reliably take podium through fear and intimidation with this 1960's Custom Dirt Super Modified for sale in Shelby, NC for $2,500.

Fresh Off The Vine: 1979 Buick Riviera

It's a real shame that you can't get velour interiors color coded to the avocado metallic exterior hue these days. How much better would a new Regal be with green, tufted, semi-reflective seats? Not to fear; a nearly new option exists. Find this geriatrically preserved 1979 Buick Riviera available in Napa County, CA for an undisclosed price via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy

Dusted: 1973 Plymouth Duster 340

Redneckery used to be cheap. It seems like not that long ago, one could buy an original muscle car and start tire fires at every opportunity until something terrible would happen, then you'd just scrap it, buy a case of Schlitz with the cash, and flip through the classifieds. Enter the Barrett-Jackson 'barn find' and Pro-Touring insanity age and there go all of our affordable muscle cars. Find what may be the last 1973 Plymouth Duster 340 that hasn't been shackled up and murdered out here on craigslist in Lancaster, CA for a marginally insane $9,800.

Power Fender Mirrors: 1982 Toyota Carina Twin Cam Turbo

Let's lay out the facts for a moment, shall we? Lag-then-scream twin cam turbo power, remotely adjustable fender mirrors, tight limited slip, and super-80's scripted interior - could it get any more JDM in the best ways possible?  Find this 1982 Toyota Carina Twin Cam Turbo here for sale in Dallas, TX for $4,500 via craigslist.

Bollywood Simulator: Pair of 1958 Fiat 1100's

Every watch Bollywood films and want to be the mustachio'd protagonist? You know, the one with the hammer pants and mad song and dance skills, who drives a Premier Padmini complete with enormous entourage. That could be you, my friend, with equal parts elbow grease, dance lessons, and voice coaching. Find this pair of 1958 Fiat 1100's, the Padmini's older brother, for sale in Tallmadge, OH for $2,000 via craigslist.

Mmmm-Kei: 1975 Mazda Chantez

I looked it up just now, it's not a girl's name. Chantez means 'to sing' in French, so that's probably not a hard 'Z' there at the end. Via an alternate translation, Chantez would likely mean 'to scream musically in terror' if driven on US roads. Find this 1975 Mazda Chantez for sale in Pittsburgh, PA for $6,000 via craigslist.

Celicamino: 1985 Toyota Turbo SR5 2WD Pickup

Turbocharged gasoline powered pickup trucks haven't seen much popularity until the until the Ecoboost Fords. Given the state of the technology up until now, perhaps that's not surprising. No one wants to sit at the boat ramp with their foot to the floor for 45 seconds, waiting for enough turbonium to snatch their pontoon boat out of the water. Find this 1985 Toyota Turbo SR5 2WD Pickup for sale in North Charleston, SC for $3,200 via craigslist.

In a Glass of its Own: 1977 Oldsmobile Toronado XS

Sometimes its just two letters that make the car. The Mustang GT, the Cobalt SS, and the Spirit R/T, for example, tacked on a bit more driving involvement with two extra majuscules.  In the case of the Oldsmobile Toronado, however, this gets you a back glass that looks like it was constructed by a team of workers who normally do upscale bathroom renovations. Find this 1977 Oldsmobile Toronado XS here for sale in Tempe, AZ for $8,000 via craigslist.

Bad Dubbing: 1987 Sterling 825SL

If we're using metaphors, the Sterling was a poorly dubbed Kung-Fu movie. If we're using analogies, the 825 is to English cars as fish sticks are to fish and chips. Not really English and not really Japanese, the Rover 800 series, or Sterling in the US, sought to combine Japanese reliability with rich wood and leather accouterments from ye olde country. Since the Japanese weren't involved with body design, electronics, or manufacturing, the outcome was pretty predictable. Find what may be the nicest 1987 Sterling 825S left on the planet - and it's still got a trash bag over the window - for sale in Everett, WA for only $800 via craigslist. A note on tips: FuelTruck sent in an 827 with not quite enough pictures to post, so another was located. Thanks, FuelTruck for reminding us that these still exist in the backyards of America.

Bad Influence: 1951 Citroen Traction Avant

An early adopter of front-wheel-drive boringness, the Citroen Traction Avant was a bad influence on the entire auto industry, ultimately being responsible for such atrocities as the GM X-car. Unreasonable accusations and assertions aside, the Traction Avant was straight from the future, like everything Citroen.  Find this 1951 Citroen Traction Avant for sale in San Francisco, CA for $23,000 via craigslist. Momster Truck: 1986 Volvo 740GLE Turbo Diesel Trar

(Two years ago this was for sale, not it's back) -- People often forget that the load carrying capacity - or let's say utility in general - of a vehicle is directly proportional to how many eff's you don't give about it. Ever see that guy at the landscape supply having a half-yard of mulch dumped into the trunk of a Kia Sephia? Or the dude hunting out of a Matrix with a salvage title? He doesn't need a truck and an economy car because he already has both of them. Find this lifted 1986 Volvo 740GLE Turbo Diesel for sale in Havre de Grace, MD for $1,800 via craigslist.
