100cc of Social Displacement: 1939 Peugeot P52 Motorcycle

This next car...errr...two wheeler...comes from tipper Brad who writes: I thought you might dig this very interesting (presumably rare) little motorbike—although I cannot recall whether you are a cars-only outlet...This old cycle definitely deserves the label survivor, esp. considering it was produced in Europe just as WW2 was getting underway.  It seems like all the money is being asked but, as usual, where will you find another? Anyhow, what’s better for social distancing than a single-seater? There’s no room to haul bulk parcels of toilet paper, but they cannot be found anyway. Stay safe.  I couldn't have said it better myself -- thanks Brad!!  Find this 1939 Peugeot P52 Motorcycle offered for $3500 in Coatesville, PA via craigslist.

Trappe Chaude: 2003 Peugeot 206RC

You used to hear a lot of chatter from car guys over here in the New World about how the Europeans always keep the best stuff to themselves. Everything from higher horsepower M3s to special Evolution editions of Cossie powered Mercedes was the stuff of legend back in the day...but globalization changed much of that and we get most everything they get back home in Germany/UK...except we don't get much from France these days, which is a shame...but what you can't get here in the the USA you can get by heading due North.  You might have to move to Canada permanently, but a little snow never killed anybody. Find this 2003 Peugeot 206RC offered for $8900 CAD ($6688 USD) in Laval, Quebec, Canada via Kijiji.net. Tip from Erik202.

French Fried: 1990 Peugeot 405 Mi16

The Peugeot 405 was a Pininfarina designed sedan from the French automaker Peugeot S.A., built from 1987 through 1997.  Actually, they still make a halal version of the 405 in Iran and Egypt for local consumption, but the car was replaced by the 406 in Europe and by the early 1990s the entire Peugeot lineup was pulled from the US market. The Mi16 version was the sportiest of the 405 lineup, not exactly something you'd phone home about...but beggars can't be choosers...I guess. Find this 1990 Peugeot 405 Mi16 offered for $8250 in Great Falls, VA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

Rare = Crap or Fact? 1968 Peugeot 204 Roadster

There is a fine line between a car that is rare because its manufacturer limited the production of vehicles (because of exclusivity) and those cars that are rare because they were total crap when first released or have all rusted into oblivion..and this next car straddles that fine line like a cowboy riding a 2D horse....because Peugeot built 1.6 million examples of the 204 model, but I just don't have the foggiest how many ragtops made it to the US of A...but I have never seen on in the flesh.  Find this 1968 Peugeot 204 Roadster offered for $10,900 in Chicago, IL via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

Pininfarina Penned: 1968 Peugeot 204 Convertible

I bet you couldn't tell me what the best selling car in France was between 1969 and 1971?  I'll give you a hint, it wasn't the Volkswagen Beetle or the Ford F-Series, but it was a small Pininfarina designed French sedan from Peugeot called the 204.  You won't see many of these around the streets of the USA, and they aren't monstrously expensive. Find this 1968 Peugeot 204 Convertible offered for $12,900 in Chicago, IL via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

Dimma Widebody: 1989 Peugeot 205 GTI

The Peugeot GTI wasn't the only hot hatch to roam the streets in the late 80s (Civic, Golf GTI, etc) but it was the major French entry into the world of body cladding and fart can exhaust. Today's example is equipped with a "Dimma" widebody kit and spent some time in Europe and later Japan, but its got steering on the correct side and sweet looking wheels. Find this 1989 Peugeot 205 GTI offered for $16,995 in Kirkland, WA via craigslist.

Old Man Style: 1974 Peugeot 504 Wagon

The following tip came with words from Erik202: Look, I know most of your readers are probably more into a car in southern California than one in Alberta, Canada but here's another one from my region. It's a wagon with a manual transmission and Diesel engine.... I know you're asking yourself; could it get more DT than this? Well the answer is yes because its also French. If all this isn't enough the laughably weak Canadian dollar brings the price down to about $4526.40 USD. Find this 1974 Peugeot 504 Wagon located in Strathmore, AB, Canada via Kijiji.net.

Bracq Interior: 1988 Peugeot 505 STX

Welcome back to another feature in our Bracq Friday spectacular -- a celebration of the best cars from Frenchman Paul Bracq.  This next car doesn't have an exterior that was penned by our favorite French car designer, but he was head of interior design for Peugeot when this car was released and contributed to that sweet Pug driver's view.  Find this 1988 Peugeot 505 STX here on eBay offered for $6200 CAD ($4663 USD) located in Thornhill, Canada.

Pug Life: 1981 Peugeot 505 Turbo Diesel

How...why...wait!  This next car is one of those head-scratching oddballs that begs the questions -- how did it survive in this condition; why would it be in this nice shape compared to its siblings and cousins; wait, I want it but it might take 10 years to drive home! Find this 1981 Peugeot 505 Turbo Diesel offered for $12,000 outside of Boston, MA. Tip from Rock On!

Something Different: 1989 Peugeot Mi16

Are looking for the last high performance French car imported to the US?  Probably not, but the Mi16 by Peugeot was supposed to be a hell of a car never mind that it looks awfully similar to a first generation Infinity G20 (which can also be bought for chump change).  The Mi16 had a lusty 150 hp 1.9 engine and supposed great handling manners.  Peugeot only sold about 5,000 units of this model from 1989-1991 and today's feature is not exactly in mint shape.  Find this 1989 Peugeot Mi16 for sale in Clinton, CT for $1,400 via craigslist.

Thumb drive: 1989 Peugeot 405 MI-16

It's kind of sad that the French are only represented in the U.S. car market via Nissan.  Unfortunately it has been over a quarter century since the last French car was sold on U.S. soil.  Here's the last new model French car that marked the end of the line for French cars in America.  Not a bad way to go...  Find this 1989 Peugeot 405 MI-16 for sale in Seattle, WA for $2,499 (because $2,500 was a dollar too much) via craigslist.

All Show and a Little Go: 1999 Peugeot 406 Coupe

Pininfarina has a long standing relationship with Ferrari, having designed all of their models since the 50s (apart from the Dino 308 and the LaFerrari), but they also have a close relationship with Peugeot, the French manufacturer known for being your weird grandfather’s car. But after Peugeot raised the white flag in 1994 in the US, Pininfarina made what is one of the prettiest coupes of the 1990s, the 406 Coupe. Find this 1999 Peugeot 406 Coupe for $6500 AUD ($4965 USD at time of writing) via gumtree.com.au.

The Other, Forgotten GTI: 1988 Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6

During the hot hatch wars of the 80’s and early 90’s Volkswagen Golf GTIs squared off with Honda Civic SIs in the United States each with a dedicated following. It looks like with the Ford Focus ST now joining the two well-known models and what seems to be and arms race of horsepower in the hatchbacks there may be a resurgence in the market. But there are hatchback models that never were modified by flat brimmed teens with street glow and stanced to a level where they scrape their oil pan on the paint while changing lanes. Here is the chance to own an unmolested beauty that was imported recently and appears to be intact and correct. Advertised on the list that is Craig’s, located in Newport News, Virginia this 1988 Peugeot 205 GTI  is yours for the mere price of $7,500; beret and baguette not included.

Auction Watch: Matt's 1991 Peugeot 405 Mi16

My cushy and reasonably quick French luxo-barge that I rely on for daily transit, once featured on Daily Turismo a couple weeks ago, is now on eBay for nearly free. Find this 1991 Peugeot 405 Mi16 here on eBay in Charleston, SC for a starting bid of $200 with no reserve. By purchasing this car, you can rest assured knowing that what was formerly your hard earned money will be blown on something completely sensible, like a big friggin' turbo for a VL Commodore if things go really well. If not, I guess I'll settle for a new transmission jack. Mention Daily Turismo upon handing over cash and I won't try try to replace the battery with a crappy one before you take the car.

Buy My16: 1991 Peugeot 405 Mi16

The fleet here at Scuderia Matt has gotten way out of hand and something needs to go. The recently procured Baja bug friend-group project seems to have been the tipping point and I'm in full on freakout mode to get some space so that my garage door will actually swing open again. Logically, it should be my daily driver, a dependable but somewhat ratty 1991 Peugeot 405 Mi16. Find it for sale right here, right now for somewhere around $1,000.

Friggin' SW8: 1992 Peugeot 505 SW8 Wagon

Peugeots have always been for the eccentrics. My next door neighbor growing up had one. He also had a telephone booth sitting in his overgrown front yard and yelled at people for burning leaves, citing emissions concerns. So why not drive a mobile excuse for your strange behavior? Let others say "Oh, he drives a Peugeot, that's why he does that" with this 1992 Peugeot 505 SW8 for sale in Portland, OR for $1,500 via craigslist.
