Are looking for the last high performance French car imported to the US? Probably not, but the Mi16 by Peugeot was supposed to be a hell of a car never mind that it looks awfully similar to a first generation Infinity G20 (which can also be bought for chump change). The Mi16 had a lusty 150 hp 1.9 engine and supposed great handling manners. Peugeot only sold about 5,000 units of this model from 1989-1991 and today's feature is not exactly in mint shape. Find this 1989 Peugeot Mi16 for sale in Clinton, CT for $1,400 via craigslist. 89 Peugeot m116 body is mint some faded paint interior is good minor tears In leather seats.. tires are good 1 owner car.. car ran when parked could use a little TLC asking $1400 if interested call

At least they had possibly the most comfortable seats in automotive world.
ReplyDeleteFunny, I was trying (in vain) to search the interwebs for a nice 505 Sti Turbo a couple days ago, and ended up going down the 405 Mi-16 rathole.
ReplyDelete150hp doesn't sound like much, but it's impressive to me to come from a 1.9L engine in 1989, given that VW was making 134hp from their 2.0L 16 valve 4 cylinder around the same time.
If you want real unicorn status, try to find one of the few 405 wagons they sold here.
