24 Cylinders: A Pair of 1994 Jaguar XJ12

I love it when a craigslist advert concludes with a statement like: They need to be trailered, don’t expect gleaming beautiful cars, they need work.  This isn't a seller trying to pass off his project as something it isn't -- this is a seller who wants to sell.  And its probably where anybody would be if you had 24 cylinders of Jag in your driveway and none of them particularly sea worthy. Find A Pair of 1994 Jaguar XJ12s offered for $1200 in Wilton, NY via craigslist. Tip from Cory.

Pop Up All The Headlights: 1991 BMW 850i

You know what I love better than a gorgeous coupe fitted with a V12 powerplant offered for a reasonable price?  One with pop-up headlamps...because fixed beams are for chumps.  Yeah, there is only once choice -- the BMW E31 8-series. Between 1989 and 1997 BMW sold only 7,000 of the shark nose E31 in North America, a luxury grand tourer meant not to just supersede the E24 6-series, but to also eclipse it in performance, price and prestige.  Find this 1991 BMW 850i offered for $15,995 in Smithfield, UT via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

Oh Yeah: 1993 BMW 550i V12 Wagon E34

The BMW E34 5-series was a large luxury family car from BMW, available as a sedan or wagon (estate).  We don't see the wagon versions very often on the road anymore, but they offer a surprising amount of room for the kids/gear/junk while maintaining the classic BMW luxury, handling and performance.  Regrettably, for the US market BMW felt it only needed an inline-6 in the wagon when equipped with a manual gearbox, or a small V8 when equipped with a slushbox, but some visionary lunatic decided the E34 needed a V12 6-speed. Find this 1993 BMW 550i V12 Wagon E34 offered for $18,000 in East Hampton, CT via craigslist. Tip from Bill.

Vee Twelve Days of Christmas: 1991 BMW 850i

All I want for Christmas is a V12...that's it.  No fancy bluetooth integrated steering wheel and ear heaters or a backup camera that was tuned for THX by George Lucas -- I JUST WANT 12 cylinders of gasoline power. Find this 1991 BMW 850i here on eBay offered for $11,950 in Ozone Park, NY with a few days to go.

The V12 Days of XMas: 1985 Jaguar XJS

The Jaguar V12 engine was launched in 1971 for the E-Type road car, but the design was originally created for the mad XJ13 LeMans racer.  A few years later, the engine was stuffed into the Malcolm Sayer/Doug Thorpe designed XJS...and MANY years later you can get one for the price of a years worth of Starbucks lattes.  Find this 1985 Jaguar XJS offered for $1500 in SF Bay Area, CA via craigslist. Tip from Matt.

V12 And Cheap: 1994 Mercedes-Benz 600SL

This next car comes as a tip from Mark who writes will these ever appreciate? I'm not entirely sure, but I will enjoy the ride while they are cheap. Find this 1994 Mercedes-Benz 600SL offered for $8900 in Kansas City, KS via craigslist. Tip from Mark.

E31 V12 LOL: 1993 BMW 850 CI

How bad can it be?  Where is the nearest BMW dealer? What is an electric throttle? What is an electron?  No these are not the answers to the latest Jeopardy quiz -- they are, unfortunately, the things you NEVER want to say after buying a V12 BMW that has sat for at least the last 10 years and costs less than a trip to the nearest dealer. Find this 1993 BMW 850 CI offered for $6,500 in Champaign, IL via craigslist.

V12, Bangle Butt: 2004 BMW 760Li

This next car comes as a tip from Jeff who writes:  Ya gotta love depreciation... especially when it comes to used BMW / M-B cars. I know, I know... the stories behind the electronics with this engine might actually make late 70's/early 80's model Jaguar owners wince, but I'm a sucker for low mileage, European V-12 rides.... not that I'd be fool enough to own one in my current tax bracket though.  Only a 2-owner car, but the seller (the second owner) has only owned it for four months....... (insert pic of your wallet floating in water with the 'Jaws' theme song playing here). Find this 2004 BMW 760 Li offered for $10,000 in Brenham, TX via craigslist.

Vee-Twelve: 2001 Mercedes-Benz CL600

The Mercedes-Benz lineup in the early 2000s might look confusing (C, E, S, CL, CLC, CLK, CL, SLK, SLC, SLK, SL, SLR, R, etc) to a person who was used to simpler times, but the product planners at Mercedes-Benz knew exactly what they were doing...which was fleecing every last cent they could get from the wannabe wealthy, the actually wealthy, and the mega-wealthy in the case of this last car.  Thankfully you don't have to be wealthy to afford this next car, unless something goes wrong...in which case you'd better hope your trust fund has matured.  Find this 2001 Mercedes-Benz CL600 offered for $6,500 near Houston, TX via craigslist.

A Wizard Is Never Late: 1991 BMW 850CI

The seller of this next car states in a simple sentence: O2 sensors have been cut by previous owner so the car could use a tune up it's running rich.  Umm...BMW V12s never need a simple tune up, they need a few thousand dollars of tune up time at a BMW specialist and they run exactly when they intend to run.  Find this 1991 BMW 850CI offered for $5,400 in Richmond, VA via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

Hess & Eisenhardt: 1988 Jaguar XJ-S V12

Jaguar built their XJ-S replacement for the gorgeous E-Type starting in 1975, and if you were a rich/distinguished buyer at the time, you would have noticed something conspicuously absent from the order sheet options.  Where did the convertible (the best looking E-Type) go when they designed the XJ-S?  Find this 1988 Jaguar XJ-S V12 offered for $9,500 near Nashville, TN via craigslist.  Tip from Rock On!

Aston Who: 1999 Ford Mustang Custom

Aston Martin was founded in 1913 by Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford in a workshop when they hacked up a 1908 Isotta-Fraschini to go racing.  So the idea of hacking up another car to create an Aston Martin has some kind of precedent and might end up being a good thing.  Key word might. Find this 1999 Ford Mustang Custom offered for $3,500 near Miami, Florida via craigslist.

The Loneliest Bimmer: 1991 BMW 850i

The BMW 8-series was only introduced and sold for one single generation --which is odd given the current proliferation of the BMW model ranges.  The old 6-series is back and can be had as a 4-door, there is even something called a 4-series, but why haven't they brought back the old 8?  Probably because they can't figure out how to top the OG E31 version.  Find this 1991 BMW 850i offered for $13,900 from a small dealer near Houston, TX. Tip from Jeff.

Cobruar or Jagobra: 1965 AC Cobra Replica V12

I always chuckle when I think about how Carroll Shelby spent much of his time suing companies who built Shelby Cobra replica cars when it was AC Cars gorgeous Ace that is being plagiarized by every Tom, Dick, & Harry with the space to make a few welded frame chassis and fiberglass molds. The AC Ace was a British built speed machine, so it only makes sense that you'd build a replica with a properly British Jaguar V12.  Find this 1965 AC Cobra Replica V12 offered for $6,000 in Camarillo, CA via craigslist. Tip from Sean S.

Tupac's Last Ride: 1996 BMW 750iL

When I first saw this listing, I thought -- DT is not a place for murderabilia, we are better than that.  And then I remembered that we aren't better than anything, and one of DT's early breakout stories was Dr Jack Kevorkian's death van.  So...yup, this next thing is a perfect fit.  Find this 1996 BMW 750iL that was the scene of Tupac's untimely murder offered for $1.5 million smackeroos via Momentsintime.com.

El Presidente Día: 2004 Maybach 57 V12 TwinTurbo

What could be more presidential than a Maybach V12 Twin Turbo limousine?  Well, nothing.  This is probably the most presidential and unbelievable, perhaps record-setting auction ever, and there will be plenty of bidders.  All of the mouse buttons will be sold out in Washington.  It's hard to find a good mouse button to click buy-it-now in this auction.  Find this 2004 Maybach 57 V12 TwinTurbo offered here on eBay for $48,888 buy-it-now or make-offer located in Dry Pond, NC.
