Pickup trucks are the working dogs of the automotive world...and for decades they were strictly form-follows-function work machines. But then auto designers started to get creative to sell things like pickups that were built from cars (the El Camino and Ranchero) and even performance pickups (SVT Lightning...etc)..and Dodge even went as far as to built a convertible pickup truck...so you could haul junk to the dump and have your mullet air dried at the same time. Find this 1989 Dodge Dakota Sport Convertible offered for $3500 in Norwalk, NY via craigslist. Tip from Cory.

Italian Style: 1973 Fiat 124 Sport Spider

This next car reminds me of a time when classic European sports cars were sold for less than $5k on Autotrader print magazines found at your local 7-11 market (Autotrader stopped printing the English language version of their classifieds in 2013)...and unfortunately I've got to think that this car is either (A) already gone or (B) a scammers lure meant to catch a big fish. Either way, I'm not biting. But maybe I should? Find this 1973 Fiat 124 Sport Spider offered for $3750 in Santa Cruz, CA via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.Monday, May 20, 2019
Fintastic Vitesse: 1964 Triumph Sport 6

Another day, another oddball car that you've probably never seen before and might not have known of its existence. At least, that's what I thought when I stumbled onto this next car. It is a Triumph Sport 6, which was a convertible version of the Triumph Vitesse 6...and appears to be a combination of Triumph Herald mechanical bits with Giovanni Michelotti styling...not bad at all. Find this 1964 Triumph Sport 6 here on eBay bidding for $510 reserve-not-met with 4 days to go, located in Lompoc, CA.Tuesday, May 29, 2018
Faccina Sorridente: 1972 Fiat Spider 850 Sport
I never like buying cars that don't run -- it ends up being WAYYYY more of a project than expected, that busted engine turns out to be connected to a busted transmission which puts power to a busted rear-end which is equipped with busted brakes-- I much prefer to get a car that looks terrible but runs/drives because you find out so much more about the car...but there are times when the asking price is low enough to be worth the risk. Find this 1972 Fiat Spider 850 Sport offered for $2500 in Grants Pass, OR via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.Tuesday, October 3, 2017
Blown Hair and Leaf Blowers: 1989 Dodge Dakota Sport Convertible 4X4

Do you remember when Dodge introduced a convertible pickup truck...everybody laughed, automobile pundits raved, and the buying public went elsewhere? Well it is your lucky day, because it can be 1989 again with this next low mile/mint classic. Find this 1989 Dodge Dakota Sport Convertible offered for $16,900 in Ojai, CA via craigslist. 5-Speeds 4-Bys: 1984 AMC Eagle Sport
The Eagle was AMC's late '70s answer to the OPEC oil embargo and high
gas prices that followed. Sales of traditional pickup trucks and SUVs
were down. AMC needed a way to pad their
bottom line with more sales of profitable 4WD-equipped vehicles -- so they took a chance with a gussied up version of the Concorde (formerly the Hornet, which started production in
1969) equipped with a full-time 4WD system, creating the first
true crossover and "sport utility wagon" before anybody else. Find this 1984 AMC Eagle Sport offered for $2,000 in Pollock Pines, CA via craigslist. Tip from RockOn.Thursday, July 28, 2016
Blue Thursday: 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport XJ
To the average guy walking down the street, they probably won't take a second glance at a 20 year old Jeep Cherokee, but to a certain subset of the population, this next feature is the bee's knees. Personally, I'm ambivalent and would probably get a 4Runner if I needed a 4X4 SUV...but, why drive boring when you can drive turismo? Find this 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport XJ here on eBay bidding for $6,001 with 3 days to go, located in Woodbury, NJ.Tuesday, June 14, 2016

Mini Camino: 1965 Datsun NL320 Sport Pick-Up

The Datsun NL320 was a compact truck built by Nissan from 1962 through 1965 on a chassis shared with the Datsun Bluebird 310, CSP311 Fairlady Roadster, and Silvia Coupe. The little truck isn't something you see much on the road in the 21st century, and the Sports Pick-Up version (with integrated bed) is even more rare with only 1000 produced. Find this 1965 Datsun NL320 Sport Pick-Up offered for $10,000 in Chico, CA via craigslist. Tip from Kaibeezy.Tuesday, June 7, 2016
Brot und Butter: 1997 Mercedes-Benz E420 Sport W210

by Glenn -- Without a doubt, the E-class is the bread and butter of Mercedes Benz.
With over 13 million sold to date, it has deservedly earned "best
selling" model in MB history. They were built to be tough and are used
in demanding applications such as taxi cabs
throughout the world. Many different variants evolved under the W210
chassis run including this clean low mileage 1997 Mercedes-Benz E420 Sport offered
for $8800 CDN ($6800 USD at today's rate) in Vancouver, BC via
craigslist.Wednesday, April 6, 2016
Wheeler Dealer'd: 1962 Volvo PV544 Sport

If you spend any time watching the automotive themed television these days, you might have seen a show called Wheeler Dealers on Velocity -- where two chaps from Britain spend an hour (or two) saving some modern classic from the crusher and making a few quid while they are at it. The dollars per hour that Mike, Edd and their crew make per "flip" is a tuppence of reality show capital 'D' Drama (holds back of hand to forehead, rolls eyes upward, swoons slightly) because they aren't in the business of car flipping, they are in the entertainment business -- they could easily give away each car at the end of the episode and still pay the bills. Regardless, each episode starts with Mike Brewer buying a car from some bloke, Edd fixes it up (with the help of few occasionally on camera lackeys), and finally they sell it to a new owner for a small profit -- here is your opportunity to be that new owner. Find this 1962 Volvo PV544 Sport from Wheeler Dealers offered for $14,500 in Huntington Beach, CA via craigslist.Friday, September 4, 2015
European Export: 1975 Ford Escort 1600 Sport Mk II

Mentioning the name Ford Escort will typically incite fear and loathing from the American automotive enthusiast, but ask a European petrolhead and they will regal you with great stories about a little Ford built in Britain and Germany. That is because the European Ford Escort was not a pathetic little crapbox that ate headgaskets like a tween eats Twizzlers, but instead it was a capable rear-drive saloon with a rally credentials and decent built quality. Find this 1975 Ford Escort Mk II offered for $16,500 in Redding, CA via craigslist. Tip from Kaibeezy. Friday, August 21, 2015
Demi Priced Demio: 2011 Mazda Mazda2 Sport

You've seen some nice examples of cheap classic hatchbacks featured on this site, such as the Mazda 323 GTX, Suzuki Swift GT, Toyota Starlet Turbo, and Dodge Omni GLH. But, what if I said you could get a much newer hatch with your same cash that might make it you look like you borrowed it from a college chick, but it offers a classic hatchback fun package with modern style, fuel economy, and comfort. You like a skittles paint job, right? Find this 2011 Mazda Mazda2 Sport offered for $6,995 via cars.com.Thursday, July 16, 2015
Big Wheels: 1973 Ford Gran Torino Sport

The 1972 restyle of Ford's Torino saw the model split into two styles, the basic Torino or the fancy Gran Torino, which featured a bass mouth grill and a few bonus luxury items. The big change under the skin for 1972 may have been the switch back to body-on-frame construction, but you could still get it in fastback, hardtop, sedan, or station wagon (the previous generation convertible was dumped for being a sales loser). Find this 1973 Ford Gran Torino Sport here on eBay
