The Volvo PV544 might be mostly recognizable as the car the Rick Moranis' character drove in Honey I Shrunk the Kids, but tipper SecondMouse calls it "the '65 Volvo that is NOT an 1800" and had this to say about the old Swede: If you have seen enough old Volvo Amazons and 1800s, here is a beautiful and relatively rare 1965 PV544. This was the last year they were made (except for the wagon version, which went on for a few more years). I love these classic, indestructible Volvos, and with their climbing prices, I am clearly not alone. The owner says this two door four seater has less than 75,000 miles on it (that's like 1400 miles a year) and is a four speed standard. Gorilla Whale: 1960 Volvo PV544

1958 Volvo PV444

Person Vagn: 1964 Volvo PV544 Sport

The "PV" in Volvo's PV444 / PV544 model designation stands for Person Vagn, or roughly passenger car, in Swedish. It's a common term and is part of Volvo Cars' corporate name in fact: Volvo Personvagnar AB. This is the oldest Volvo model commonly seen in North America, and it was quite the stalwart, debuting in 1943 and being produced all the way through 1965 after its replacement (the 122 / Amazon) was already in showroooms.
