Double Trouble: 1986 vs 1988 Ferrari 308 Mera Fiero Clones

Wow.  What are the chances?  We got a hot tip on a Fauxrarri 308 clone (that uses a Pontiac Fiero chassis and some Ferrarieqse body work) powered by a Caddy V8 and then another tip came through...and I thought...wow, must be the same car.  Nope.  TWO DIFFERENT CADDY POWERED FIERRARIS AT THE SAME TIME.  First up is this 1988 Ferrari 308 Clone offered for $15,450 in Virginia Beach, VA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

Fiero In Yellow: 1980 Pontiac Fiero...ummm...Ferrari 308 GTBi Replica

Most of the Fierrari out in the wild are obviously kit cars and painted red...but this next example is a shade of LOOK AT ME yellow and shockingly Ferrariesque.  Find this 1980 Ferrari 308 GTBi Replica offered for $11,000 in Alhambra, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Rock On!

Don't call me Fiero: 1986 Ferrari 308GTS Replicar

It is almost an automotive cliche to turn a Pontiac Fiero into something more exotic and flashy.  Ferrari and Lamborghini body swaps seem to be the most common ones.  The Fiero's plastic body panels made the car perfect for this sort of thing.  General Motors made a dizzying number of powerful front wheel drive 4-6-8 cylinder engines that are ripe for swapping into the Fiero platform.  Find this 1986 Ferrari 308GTS Replicar in Orange, CT for $11,500 via craigslist.

15k: Slippery When Wet: 1983 Ferrari 308 GTSi Twin-Turbo; Sandy Flood Salvage

How do you flood a fuel injected car?  Easy - park it outside during the storm of the century.  In 2012, a category three Hurricane (Sandy) turned most of the east coast into a giant swimming pool causing an estimated $71 billion in damages and claimed thousands of cars in the process...but it's just water right?  Find this flooded and recovered 1983 Ferrari 308 GTSi with twin-turbo engine for sale in Olivehurst, CA currently bidding on ebay for $16,000 reserve-not-met with 3 days to go. (thanks to reader Kevin who pointed out this is not a GT4, but a GTS and the seller calls it a GTSi)

15k: Cheapskate's Nightmare: 1975 'Ferrari' Dino 308 GT4; Some Assy Required

Someone suggested we feature nothing but Ferraris, Fiats & Alfas with the new DT logo...so let's get this bus headed in the right direction with a car from our friends in Maranello, Italy.  Enzo "il Commendatore" Ferrari decreed that a Ferrari had a V12 mounted in front and anything else shouldn't wear the prancing horse emblem, so the Dino brand was launched for their mid-engine V6/V8 offerings.  Find this 1975 'Ferrari' Dino 308 GT4 for sale in San Jose, CA for $15,000 via craigslist.  Tip from logomeister Kaibeezy.

25k: Prancing Hyundai: 1978 Ferrari 308 GT4 2+2

The Ferrari 308 GT4 was a 2+2 continuation of the Dino line and wasn't decorated with Ferrari badges until after 1976 (it used the Dino name because il Commendatore insisted that a Ferrari should have a V12 mounted up front.)  The 308 GT4 is surprisingly inexpensive for a car with the Prancing Horse logo and costs about as much as a new Hyundai Genesis coupe.  Find this 1978 Ferrari 308 GT4 for sale in Costa Mesa, CA currently bidding on ebay for $22,100 with less than one day to go.
