The Sunbeam Alpine was originally engineered and produced by the UK based Rootes Group (Sunbeam, Karrier, Commer, Humber, Hillman, Talbot & Singer), and around the time this Alpine was built, the Sunbeam marque was acquired by Chrysler Corp. As I write up the posts for today, I've got Mecum Auctions 2018 at Indianapolis on the tele, and it makes for an interesting juxtaposition to the thing looking at me on the screen. The Saab 96 was the final evolution of the original aerospace derived and teardrop shaped Ur-SAAB.
