The controversial 1981-85 Cadillac Seville was one of legendary GM designer Bill Mitchell's last designs. The bustle-back rear styling made waves when introduced, but it was the truly horrendous lineup of engines that did the car in. This generation of Seville had three of the most horrendous and half baked engines ever to come out of General Motors: the 350 converted diesel, the displacement on demand V8-6-4, and 4.1 4100 V8. The International Harvester Company was an industrial manufacturing firm that traced its roots back to the 1830s when a bushy beard sporting Virginian inventor named Cyrus Hall McCormick received a patent for a horse drawn reaper. Many years later IHC entered the light truck/passenger vehicle market with something called the 1907 Model A Auto Wagon, but it wasn't until the 1961 introduction of the Scout that they had something that could legitimately compete with the Big 3. The Independence from Boring celebration continues with a piece of rare steel from Fort Wayne, IN built by the International Harvester company around the bicentenial celebrations of 1976. International celebrated our nations 200th birthday by producing a number of limited editions of the Scout II SUV.
