The Buick Riviera appeared on the automotive landscape in 1963 as a personal luxury coupe on the E-body platform (later shared with the Eldorado and Toronado), but in rear-drive only configuration. The cars that were badged with the Griffin of Scania in the 21st century weren't nearly as quirky/funky/stinky as the Saabs of yesteryear, but they were probably better engineered and executed for what its worth. The Silverado name first appeared on the side of a Chevy pickup in 1999 on the replacement for the 75-98 Chevrolet C/K pickup, but there were two different versions of the Silverado. The first generation Mercury Capri was a rebranded Ford Capri from Cologne, Germany that was sold at North American Lincoln-Mercury dealers from 1970 through 1977. Interestingly enough, the Capri was not badged as a Mercury, Lincoln, or even a Ford, but it did get a selection of inline-4 and V6 power that was appropriate for the US market. A custom Lotus Europa roadster sounds like a terrible idea. The structural rigidity likely isn't changed much because the Europa used a fiberglass body glued to a boxed-steel backbone chassis, but aesthetically, there are many ways to fail miserably. You can't really win with a Volkswagen Beetle. They are terrible and slow in anything near stock guise, and the minute you start to get some horsepower into the chassis you are required (apparently by law in some places) to immediately remove fenders/engine-lid at the minimum, sometimes replacing the entire body with a poorly assembled homage to the CamEro. However, this next Beetle is different. Not only does it look vintagey and cool on the outside, but it boasts modern power and even with stock wheels/tires it will be faster than the average minivan.
