I'm not sure that is proper justification for choosing it over the manual but hey, it's something. the price doesn't hurt on this one either ($4178 USD). Yellow Fever: 2005 Audi S4

This next car comes to Erik202 who writes: Send help! (stay 6ft back) just talk me out of buying a V8 Audi S4. I might be going a little crazy from the lack of human interaction but this thing is looking so yellow and fast. And even tho the ad says it’s an auto it’s clearly a stick and it says the timing chains and guides are done and that’s only like $4600USD. Save Erik from monumental repair bills and cheap V8 fun by buying this car before he coughs on the door handles. Find this 2005ish Audi S4 offered for $6500 CAD (approx $4600 USD) in Montréal, QC via facemask marketplace.Tuesday, August 20, 2019
Fast 6-Speed: 2004 Audi S4

This next car comes from tipper SecondMouse who writes: OOOOH. Around my house, this car is better known as the marriage ender. It's a long, scary story, but it ended with me getting rid of an A8 that was a bad luck magnet with a terrible automatic transmission. Anyway, these S4s are much sought after, none more so than the version with the standard transmission. This example is awesome in black, RS4 wheels, and all the expensive stuff reported done to it already and still hasn't rolled the odometer. Unfortunately, it is too small to sleep in. My S4 is UrS4: 1993 Audi S4

The C4 generation Audi S4 was the first car to wear the S4 badge and as such is commonly called the Ur-S4, Ur being short for Ursprünglich or original in German. Audi was nipping at the heels of BMW and Mercedes in the sport/luxury sedan segment, and when introduced in 1991 the S4 added a well needed dose of fun to Audi's lineup of luxury sedans. The big part of Audi's recipe for creating an ///M & AMG competitor was the addition of a turbocharged engine to the quattro equipped sedan. Turbo Audis had been around before, but the 2.2 liter inline-5 in the S4 was boosted to 230 horsepower and 258 ft-lbs of torque. Performance was great for the day with 0-60 in about 6 seconds and a top speed governed at 130 mph. Today we've got an example that isn't some low mile over-priced trailer queen -- and looks to be a great way to spend less than $5k and have a good time. Find this 1993 Audi S4 offered for $4000 in Fort Collins, CO via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.Wednesday, October 3, 2018
Feelin' Blue: 2004 Audi S4 6-Speed

The V8 powered B6 generation Audi S4 is something of a jack-of-all-trades in the world of late model performance super-sedans. It isn't as fast or viscerale as an STi or Evo, but it is far more refined. The S4 might not offer as much straight line punch as an E55 AMG, but it offers a manual gearbox and the safety of all-wheel-drive. If you want a well rounded sport sedan, this is your car, and it comes in the most incredible shade of blue you'll ever see. Find this 2004 Audi S4 6-Speed offered for $13,400 in Scottsdale, AZ via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.Monday, September 17, 2018
AWD 6-sp Manual Turbo Wagon: 2001 Audi S4 Avant B5

The B5 generation Audi A4 was introduced in 1994 and featured a longitudinally mounted engine mated to a front transaxle with optional quattro all-wheel-drive. It is a good cheap used car, and the hottest version released to the US market was the twin-turbo equipped S4. Thankfully, the product planners at Audi decided to let the USA buyers get the Avant/Wagon version and was in this generation that Audi started to legitimately challenge BMW in the compact luxury sports-sedan/wagon wars. Find this 2001 Audi S4 Avant B5 offered on SecondDaily.com bidding for $1000 (buy-it-now of $7750) with 9 hours to go, located in New York.Tuesday, March 6, 2018
Red Red Seats: 2005 Audi S4 Convertible

The B5 generation Audi S4 introduced V8 power to Audi's sport luxury compact offering...and that wasn't a bad thing for anyone involved. Perhaps a few turbo enthusiasts missed the turbo lag and monstrous maintenance costs of the outgoing 2.7T powertrain, but everybody else marveled in the sweet V8 soundtrack and power everywhere. Find this 2005 Audi S4 Convertible here on eBay offered for $7,990 buy-it-now or make-offer located in Claremont, CA with 16 days to go.Sunday, December 10, 2017

Risky Business: 2004 Audi S4 V8 6spd

In 2003 Audi replaced the previous twin-turbo V6 S4 sport sedan with a car that now featured V8 power...but with the same Audi Quattro four-wheel-drive grip and countless expensive repairs just waiting for whoever chooses to drive it past 100k miles. This next one is REALLY cheap, which begs the question --how much can it really cost to repair? Boosted : 2001 Audi S4

Owning a B5 generation Audi S4 is a bit like dating that red headed girl in college -- you knew it was a terrible idea going into it, and you could only hope that the thrill of the ride is worth the heartache and consequences when the house of cards comes crashing down in a pile of flaming cards -- who doused these playing cards with lighter fluid anyway? Mid Week Match-Up: A Wagon for Winter
This week's Mid Week Match-Up request comes from Kenn who writes: I'm looking to replace my 01’ Mercedes-Benz E320 4Matic Wagon (just about to tick over 250k miles) with something similar. I need something that can fit my 110lb German Shepard and can take on MN winters (though I’ll likely buy snow tires for whatever I buy so AWD/4WD is not a must). I’m looking at wagons, larger sedans and SUV’s (will consider crossovers….but not happily) and always want something a little unique, fun and that I can work on myself (automatic gearbox). My budget is 10k and I live in the Twin Cities in MN. Thanks for the help!

10k: Seven Fifty One: 1987 Porsche 928 S4

Last week's Porsche 928 RS Carrera reader ride from Matt has brought back flashbacks of my brief (but memorable) experience as helmsman of the 4-wheeled Unterseeboot-928. It was a car that brought a smile to my face with each time I turned the ignition key and heard the staccato bark of that V8, and not only because I was so thoroughly relieved that it actually started. 1k: Will Work For Engine: 1987 Porsche 928 S4

The evolution of the Porsche 928 was very much like the 911 it was designed to supersede. Each year the 928 got a little faster, a little better, but changes were kept evolutionary instead of revolutionary. The sleek-in-the-front and
bulbous-in-the-rear design was penned by Wolfgang Möbius and was one of
the first cars
to offer a polyurethane front bumper that could survive US 5 mph impact standards. In 1987 Porsche introduced the S4 version of the 928, which was more of the same, just faster and a little better looking. Find this 1987 Porsche 928 S4
