LS1 Manual Swap: 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS
GM wasn't messing around when the seventh generation Impala was launched in 1994 because it was only available as the SS version which meant power from a 260 horsepower LT1 borrowed from the Corvette. Unfortunately the Impala SS didn't come with a manual gearbox and was only available with GM's 4-speed 4L60E slushbox, but that is something that can be fixed with the remnants of a wrecked Camaro, an afternoon, a good buddy named Fred, and a case of Coors. Find this 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS with LS and T56 swap offered for $12,500 in Columbus, GA via craigslist. Tip from Jeff.Saturday, August 24, 2019
American Hero: 1973 Chevrolet Chevelle SS

There are cars that are sweet...and then there are cars that are sweeeeeEEEEEeeeEEEttt. This is the later. This is the kinda car that'll get you smiles at a stop sign and questions at a gas station. It's the kinda of car that'll make you happy even when the carb is acting up and the left front wheel bearing is going...because its got a 5-speed gearbox, rear wheel drive, and enough horsepower to make some noise. It's not fast...but it doesn't need to be...it just needs to be fun. Find this 1973 Chevrolet Chevelle SS offered for $4,650 in Bonita, CA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!Tuesday, April 9, 2019
When A Moon Hits Your Eye: 1978 Amore Cimbria SS Kit Car

Do you know whats better than a million bucks? Having a car that looks like a million bucks but cost you less than a used Kia. Better still is a car that'll have even the most well read car guy scratching his head when you drive by and THAT, my friend, is worth a million bucks if you ask this guy. You can read all about the Cimbra SS by Amore in this old DT article that is probably full of conjector and innuendo...what else is new/old? Find this 1978 Amore Cimbria Kit Car offered for $3,500 in Huntsville, AR via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!Monday, January 7, 2019
Epiphany Myrrh: 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport

The final of the three Magi is named Gaspar and his gift was historically myrrh, which is an essential tree oil that was used in embalming practice, an unusual gift for a newborn, but appropriate for someone would die at a young age....anyway, this next car is appropriately symbolic of death...I think. The 7th generation Chevrolet Impala was released in 1994 on a B-body platform that was shared with the Buick Roadmaster, Chevrolet Caprice, and Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. Tastes Like Chicken: 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Clone

I didn't know this until recently, but if you go to Subway and ask for a chicken sandwich, you get something that looks like chicken, but isn't really if you examine the DNA. What is it? Who knows. But it reminds me of what you find around the car shows across America, cars that aren't quite what they look like. Find this 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Clone here on eBay bidding for $12,100 in West Creek, NJ via craigslist.Thursday, February 9, 2017
1 of 33: 1995 Callaway C9 Impala SS

Reeves Callaway was an aspiring race car driver who ended up working as
an instructor at Bob Bondurant's racing school in the 1970s and later fitted a
turbo system on a BMW 320i and loaned the car to Car and Driver
journalist Don Sherman who wrote a one page article on it and told him "you should do this for a living". A few years later and Callaway Cars was building some of the most bonkers stuff based on Corvette, but in 1994 they put their magic touch on the B-Body Impala. Find this 1995 Callaway Impala SS offered for $12,000 in Canton, MA via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck. Friday, November 11, 2016

2007 Chevrolet Impala SS

LS swap the world, they say. GM decided to both mimic and one-up the enthusiast crowd by dropping an LS into a place it should never have gone; a front wheel drive sedan. That’s right, you can call the first responders directly from your Onstar, right after you break your hands off of your wrists off with the dull blade of monumental torque steer. Be the undisputed front-wheel-drive burnout champion of the universe with this 2007 Chevrolet Impala SS on craigslist in Detroit, MI for $5,500. This
post is part of DT's 2016 Birthday Celebration of 100 cars;
enjoy the ride! Monday, June 27, 2016
Fast and Furious: 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS

The Cobalt was introduced in 2004 as the latest subcompact econobox from GM. Somehow the brass in Detroit have it in their head that changing the name from Corvair to Vega to Monza to Cavalier to Cobalt to Cruze...that prospective buyers might not realize it is the same horrible subcompact that fell apart after a few years. Spoiler alert...it doesn't work. Find this 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS offered for $5,500 in Litchfield, AZ via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck. Thursday, March 3, 2016

10K; Cimbrialy Irresistible: 1982 Cimbria SS

The 1982 Cimbria has a far out design that is permissible to compromise ones principles. Thankfully, its Amore Cars built body has a look that is kinda mythical, and anything but typical. It is a craze you'd endorse, a powerful force, and you'd be obliged to conform when there's no other course. It used to look good to me, but now you can find this 1982 Cimbria SS bidding for $7,200 reserve-not-met here on eBayThursday, February 26, 2015
