LS1 Manual Swap: 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS
GM wasn't messing around when the seventh generation Impala was launched in 1994 because it was only available as the SS version which meant power from a 260 horsepower LT1 borrowed from the Corvette. Unfortunately the Impala SS didn't come with a manual gearbox and was only available with GM's 4-speed 4L60E slushbox, but that is something that can be fixed with the remnants of a wrecked Camaro, an afternoon, a good buddy named Fred, and a case of Coors. Find this 1996 Chevrolet Impala SS with LS and T56 swap offered for $12,500 in Columbus, GA via craigslist. Tip from Jeff.Thursday, October 18, 2018

Lord Vader's Chariot: 1978 Chevrolet Impala Aerocoupe

Personal two door coupes sold by the truck loads in the 60's-70's-80's, but are hardly produced any longer in 2018. Today's Impala coupe has been given a Grand National style black out treatment and the results look almost vintage AMG like by my eye. Under the hood features a Chevy LS swap that should motivate the car much more than the stock engine. The unique three sided rear glass is not likely something you would want to find a replacement for at this point in time. Needs TLC: 1964 Chevrolet Impala

Some cars are so awesome that we can forgive a tragic condition and third generation Chevy Impala is part of that small group of cars (E28 M5 is another...and anything with a fuel injected V8 or a Wankel swap...but we've got strange taste). Todays example is pretty crusty, doesn't run, but the price isn't too insane when you factor what a running/nice example costs and the potential is huuuuuuuuuge. Find this 1964 Chevrolet Impala offered for $6000 in Lee, FL via craigslist. Tip from Dascpcu.

Powerglider: 1966 Chevrolet Impala Coupe

The 4th generation Chevrolet Impala was a full-sized body-on-frame sedan from General Motors that was available with multiple configurations (2-door coupe, 2-door hardtop, 2-door convertible, 4-door hardtop, 4-door sedan, 4-door wagon) and many engines (inline six, small block and big block V8). When introduced in 1965 it set an all time sales record for any vehicle with over 1 million units sold in one year, a record that hasn't been beaten to this day (and probably won't be given the small-sliced segments sold currently...except if Ford ever really implements their insane idea of only selling two cars in the US Market). The '65 was the last year of the iconic small triple rear round taillights, but the redesigned rear end for '66 actually looks better. Original Paintina: 1970 Chevrolet Impala Kingswood Wagon

This next car is offered as an original paintwork classic, which would make it something that you'd want to do an interior refresh on, and stop the rust...but don't repaint! The interior is nasty and those floorboards need a full inspection...but I'm thinking this is a nice price unless it is a total Flintstones mobile. 1970's SUV: 1971 Chevrolet Impala Kingswood Wagon

A friend of mine swears that a Suburban sized SUV is the only modern vehicle able to haul a sheet of plywood. We debate and compare the merits of SUVs and wagons without any agreement or much resolution. Today's Kingswood wagon is the antithesis of a modern vehicle, but you bet it sure can swallow a sheet of plywood in the cargo hold. This pictures heavy article shows (for better or worse) where family car design has gone in last forty years. Find this 1971 Chevrolet Impala Kingswood Wagon for sale in Enfield, CT for $3,295 via craigslist. Monday, July 10, 2017
Oh Deer: 1995 Chevrolet Impala SS

The 7th generation Chevrolet Impala was released in 1994 on a B-body platform that was shared with the Buick Roadmaster, Chevrolet Caprice, and Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser. It was 9 years since the Impala badge had been retried and the revived machine was basically a high performance version of the Caprice. Acacado Sleeper: 1968 Chevrolet Impala Sedan

The real trick about building a sleeper is to start with a car that is predominately driven by old geezers (sorry, no offense to the geezers in the audience...it's the truth) and then keep it simple. No racing slicks or monster exhaust, just a vinyl top and enough carburetion to feed a B-17 Flying Fortress at bombing altitude. 1 of 33: 1995 Callaway C9 Impala SS

Reeves Callaway was an aspiring race car driver who ended up working as
an instructor at Bob Bondurant's racing school in the 1970s and later fitted a
turbo system on a BMW 320i and loaned the car to Car and Driver
journalist Don Sherman who wrote a one page article on it and told him "you should do this for a living". A few years later and Callaway Cars was building some of the most bonkers stuff based on Corvette, but in 1994 they put their magic touch on the B-Body Impala. Find this 1995 Callaway Impala SS offered for $12,000 in Canton, MA via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck. Friday, July 22, 2016
2007 Chevrolet Impala SS

LS swap the world, they say. GM decided to both mimic and one-up the enthusiast crowd by dropping an LS into a place it should never have gone; a front wheel drive sedan. That’s right, you can call the first responders directly from your Onstar, right after you break your hands off of your wrists off with the dull blade of monumental torque steer. Be the undisputed front-wheel-drive burnout champion of the universe with this 2007 Chevrolet Impala SS on craigslist in Detroit, MI for $5,500. This
post is part of DT's 2016 Birthday Celebration of 100 cars;
enjoy the ride! Wednesday, February 3, 2016

Born In Canada: 1985 Pontiac Parisienne

If you live in the tropical south you might known this next car as the Chevrolet Caprice, but up in the moose filled land that Jacques Cartier called "kanata", they are known as the Pontiac Parisienne. Sophisticated, worldly, and reeking of stinky cheese, the Parisienne is the Caprice/Impala you really want. Find this 1985 Pontiac Parisienne offered for $2,700 in Ft Myers, CO via craigslist. Time Changer: 1969 Chevrolet Townsman Wagon 4-Spd

Here is a plus sized car for today's plus sized day. 5 Footer: 1965 Chevrolet Biscayne Wagon

The fourth generation full-sized Chevrolet was extremely popular when released in 1965, with over 1 million sold for the 1965 model year. A number of body styles were available including a 2-door coupe, 2-door hardtop, 4-door hardtop, 4-door sedan, 2-door convertible and 4-door wagon, but they all had 6 small bullet shaped tail lamps and classy Coke bottle styling.
