Supercharged Cop Car: 1994 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1

The forth generation Chevrolet Caprice was used by so many Police departments for many many decades that they still evoke a instinctive brake check from motorists...myself included.  This next example might date from the bubble styling era but the addition of a huge supercharger under the hood will let it keep up with modern fast sedans and probably make a great whining racket while it puffs along. Find this 1994 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 offered for $8200 in North Jersey, NJ via craigslist. Tip from Cory.

Horrorod Festival:1987 Chevrolet Caprice

The Horrorod as defined by Daily Turismo as: Any customized vehicle that makes you want to huddle up in the fetal position and cry.  As Halloween approaches, we prepare for our annual Festival of Horrorods the only way we know how...which is to post more Horrorods.  It is a vicious circle of horror, but I'm not going to stop it.  If I try to stop, the clown will eat me.  Find this 1987 Chevrolet Caprice offered for $2,500 in Bend, OR via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

1A2 "Coprice": 1995 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon

The fourth generation Chevrolet Caprice was sold from 1991 to 1996 as the last hurrah for the Caprice name launched in 1964 (until the Caprice name was brought back for fleet use in 2011).   The Caprice Wagon shares most of its parts with the Buick Roadmaster Wagon but it lacks the faux wood sides, which ain't a bad thing at all. This next example is offered as a "1A2" package cop version and by 1995 it was powered by the mean LT1 V8, so this unicorn gets a two horns up from DT. Find this 1995 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon here on eBay bidding for $3702 reserve-not-met with 3 days to go. Tip from Lou.

Low Miles One Owner: 1995 Chevrolet Caprice Classic

Is your thumb too gross to put in front of the license plate when you take the photo?  Can't find a dirty yellow/red shop rag?  No problem, use a classic small straw dust broom.  Because everybody has one of them sitting around.  Those little dust brooms are about as common as a Caprice with 28k miles on the odometer.  Find this 1995 Chevrolet Caprice Classic offered for $5000 in League City, TX via craigslist.  Tip from Jeff.

Roadmonster's Uncle: 1978 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon

She's a beaut Clark! There has to be a story about how and why a forty year old Caprice wagon from metro Boston area looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.  This maroon long roof is blessedly free of wood grain side paneling and has jarring shade of red interior.  If you wanted a large car that could haul sheets of plywood and be easily be hotrodded this third generation Caprice should be on your shopping list.  Find this 1978 Chevrolet Caprice for sale in Warren, MA for $5,500 via craigslist.

4 Speeds Good, 6 Speeds Better: 1996 Chevrolet Caprice 6-Speed

The forth generation Chevrolet Caprice was used by so many Police departments for many many years that they still evoke a instinctive brake check from motorists...myself included.  Today's next example won't be mistaken for an active duty police cruiser, but it should be a hoot to drive.  Find this 1996 Chevrolet Caprice 6 speed offered for $3000 in La Canada, CA via craigslist. Tip from Sean S.

Police Style: 2013 Chevrolet Caprice PPV 9C3

In 1996 the Chevrolet Caprice disappeared from the North American lineup, where it was replaced a few years later by the front-wheel-drive W-body Impala.  With the death of Pontiac, GM now had no large rear-drive full-sized car to sell for fleet use, so they started importing the WM generation Holden Caprice in 2011 as a Police Patrol Vehicle.  Find this 2013 Chevy Caprice PPV 9C3 offered for $6350 in Wallingford, NY via craigslist.  From Cory.

Police Package: 2011 Chevrolet Caprice 9C3

In 1996 the Chevrolet Caprice disappeared from the North American lineup, where it was replaced a few years later by the front-wheel-drive W-body Impala.  With the death of Pontiac, GM now had no large rear-drive full-sized car to sell for fleet use, so they started importing the WM generation Holden Caprice in 2011 as a Police Patrol Vehicle.  Find this 2011 Chevrolet Caprice 9C3 offered for $12,795 in Chicago, IL via Chicago Motors Inc. Born In Canada: 1985 Pontiac Parisienne

If you live in the tropical south you might known this next car as the Chevrolet Caprice, but up in the moose filled land that Jacques Cartier called "kanata", they are known as the Pontiac Parisienne.  Sophisticated, worldly, and reeking of stinky cheese, the Parisienne is the Caprice/Impala you really want.  Find this 1985 Pontiac Parisienne offered for $2,700 in Ft Myers, CO via craigslist. Tip from Dascpcu.

El Chupacamino: 1985 Chevrolet Caprice Pickup

People always say that "children are the future," but let me tell you, that is a load of horsepucky.  The future for all of us is a one-size-fits-all pine box or an 1800 degree oven (aka Cajun burial), but before that, statistically speaking, you are a gonna spend some time reclining in a hospital bed while people prod and poke your internals. Then those worthless kids are gonna pull the plug on your atrophying corpse and start dividing your stuff into lots.  To make things worse, children (yours too) are foolish and do really stupid stuff, just look at what this next kid did. He (she?) took a 1985 Chevrolet Caprice and turned it into some kind of El Chupacabra / El Camino custom, find it here on eBay for $14,500 buy-it-now, located in Jacksonville, FL.

5k: Chuck Wagon: 1984 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon

Drive a used Chevrolet Caprice from the 1980s and you won't get noticed like it is a new Tesla Model S, but you will save quite a few smackeroos on the purchase price and your house is much less likely to be the target of burglars.  Find this 1984 Chevrolet Caprice Wagon bidding here on eBay for $5,000 with 2 days to go, located in Cleveland, OH.

5k: Detective's Sleeper: 1995 Chevrolet Caprice LT4 Power

The forth generation Chevrolet Caprice was used by Police departments for so many years that they still evoke a brake check from random motorists.  The 1994-96 Caprice was powered by Chevrolet's fantastic LT1 V8, but today's example has been given an even bigger injection of horsepower.  Find this 1995 Chevrolet Caprice offered for $6,500 in Beatrice, NE.

5k: 8 Cylinders, 6 Speeds, 4 Doors, 2Legit: 1988 Chevrolet Caprice

The third generation Chevrolet Caprice Classic was introduced in 1977 as a lighter and leaner version of the previous full sized Chevy sedan.  The Caprice received two minor restyles during its 13 year lifespan, the second in 1986 restyled the front for a more aerodynamic look, but still maintained the boxy goodness that was lost with the 1991 introduction of the 4th generation.  Today's example is a later style example and it hides a few wicked tricks under its black coat.  Find this 1988 Chevrolet Caprice offered for $4,500 in Napa, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Balzac.

10k: Hot Rod: 1984 Chevrolet Caprice

The third generation Chevrolet Caprice Classic was introduced in 1977 as a lighter and leaner version of the previous full sized Chevy sedan.  The reduction in weight was in response to fuel economy concerns but it brought with it a better vehicle the dynamic sense, not that much could be worse than a 70s era full-sized Chevrolet.  This next feature isn't your average Caprice, however, since it has been heavily modified.  Find this 1984 Chevrolet Caprice here on eBay currently bidding for $11,500 starting bid with a $14,250 buy-it-now, located in Weatherford, TX with a few hours to go.  Tip from Chris B.

5k: Best of the Worst: 1984 Chevrolet Caprice Classic

The third generation Chevrolet Caprice Classic was introduced in 1977 as a lighter and leaner version of the previous full sized Chevy sedan.  The reduction in weight was in response to fuel economy concerns but it brought with it a better vehicle the dynamic sense.  Unfortunately the Caprice is still a pretty horrible car to drive when compared to the cheap and depreciated German/Japanese sedans you can pickup from the mid 80s, but today's example is not the average Caprice.  Find this 1984 Chevrolet Caprice Classic currently bidding for $5,700 reserve-not-met with 2 days to go.
