The fourth generation full-sized Chevrolet was extremely popular when released in 1965, with over 1 million sold for the 1965 model year. A number of body styles were available including a 2-door coupe, 2-door hardtop, 4-door hardtop, 4-door sedan, 2-door convertible and 4-door wagon, but they all had 6 small bullet shaped tail lamps and classy Coke bottle styling. The Biscayne was the bottom end of the full-size Chevrolet lineup that included the Impala, Caprice, & Bel Air -- which were very similar cars, just differentiated by optional bits of flair. You could option the Biscayne with any high output big block form the Chevy stable, which mated to a 4-speed gearbox made for a quick machine.
This Biscayne is equipped with a small block 283 cubic inch turbo-fire V8 that is rated at 195 horsepower and 285 ft-lbs of torque. It isn't some big block equipped Bisquick sleeper, but it won't suck down barrels of crude either.

One of the most perfect shapes ever committed to metal, and with so many of the nicer '60s product, the wagon was the best looking of the bunch.
ReplyDeleteWhat is there not to like? It is almost winter, so I could drive it home. The only down side is I would have to air conditioning installed before summer.. Great looking car, someone should get a good deal on this one...
