There are cars that are sweet...and then there are cars that are sweeeeeEEEEEeeeEEEttt.  This is the later.  This is the kinda car that'll get you smiles at a stop sign and questions at a gas station.  It's the kinda of car that'll make you happy even when the carb is acting up and the left front wheel bearing is going...because its got a 5-speed gearbox, rear wheel drive, and enough horsepower to make some noise.  It's not fast...but it doesn't need to be...it just needs to be fun. With the 1973 release of the third generation Chevrolet Chevelle, GM paid homage to yet another Southern California beach town, the highest trim was designated the Laguna.  At the time Malibu and Laguna Beach were small surfer towns void of the legions of botox'd buxom babes more commonly associated with the names today, but that didn't stop GM from making a version with plastic bolt-on front bits called the Laguna S-3 from '74 through '76. The second generation Chevrolet Chevelle was built from 1968 through 1972 as part of GM's mid-sized A-body lineup.  Unlike modern times, where cars look identical throughout a generation, in the 60s each year featured minor differences, and major changes every few years.  The result is that a ,70 Chevelle looks very different from a ,71 and if you can figure out the nomenclature (Malibu, Nomad, Greenbrier, Concours) you can probably get a job commenting at auctions on TV.  Find this 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Wagon here on craigslist in Boise, ID, offered for $12,950.
