Surprisingly Affordable: 1977 Porsche 924 Turbo Martini & Rossi Edition

I wish I could tell you that I've got some magic crystal ball that'll tell me what makes/models are going to see serious appreciation in the next decade or two...because I would never have guessed that 80s Porsche 911s, 60s Ford Broncos or 90s Toyota Supras would trade for the coin they get these days...But i can tell you that there are cars that are rare, interesting, cool, and trade for 1/10th of what the "collectible" cars go for.  And this next car is ripe for some stupid speculation from the "cool kids"...so get 'em while they are cheap. Find this 1977 Porsche 924 Turbo Martini & Rossi Edition offered for $5000 in Apache Junction, AZ via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

NACA Ducted: 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo

The Porsche 924 was first released in 1976 as an example of what a simple engine and light chassis can achieve together. Unfortunately, a decent quantity of negative press has been heaped on the Audi van/sedan engine used to power the lithe little coupe...but in 1979 Porsche was kind enough to introduce a turbocharged version with a few more ponies and a sweet NACA duct on the hood for extra emphasis.  Think of it as the automotive styling equivalent of an exclamation point.  924.  924 Turbo! Find this 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo offered for $5900 in Las Vegas, NV via craigslist.

Compressed Air: 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo

Just what is it about the 924 that makes me want to own one?  I remember seeing them when they were in production and thinking "That's a Porsche??  No way man...someone is trying to flog dandelions in a bouquet".  Yet today, I find the thought of blasting through tight curves in this nifty and visually attractive package...well, downright appealing.  Find this 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo for sale near La Crosse, MI for $4,500 via craigslist.

Collector Status: 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo

You've probably noticed a few 924s on these pages recently, and you might say "what's with all the 924s guys, these things are terrible?"  As correct as you might be in your assessment, there will also come a time in the next year or so when you say "why didn't I buy that low mile Porsche 924 back when it was affordable and the schmucks at Daily Turismo were always featuring them?"  This is not an I-told-you-so moment, as much as it is an I'm-going-to-tell-you-so.  Find this 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo here on eBay bidding for $3,500 reserve-not-met in Coon Valley, WI with 5 days to go.

NACA Duct Tape: 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo

The Porsche 924 Turbo was the answer to the question that... wait...what's this another 924 Turbo in the span of a week, these are piles of junk -- hey, you leave the 931 alone, it had the coolest hood you could buy in 1980. Hey, there Mr Porsche, you are forgetting about the Z28 Camaro's air induction scoop -- That's it, who invited Capt America to this discussion?  Like it or not, we're featuring this 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo offered for $3,500 in Irwindale, CA via craigslist. Some Call It A 931: 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo

Today is the second day of the Octave of Easter -- the traditional 8 days of celebration at the beginning of Eastertide that begins on Easter Sunday and ends on the second Sunday of Easter known as Quasimodo Sunday.  This next car is little gem of an egg colored beauty that just needs a few days (perhaps a little luck...and prayers) to be risen from the dead.  Find this 1980 Porsche 924 Turbo offered for $2,250 obo located in Manassas, VA.
