The first generation Mercury Cougar (1967-1970) was an up-market version of Ford's popular Mustang pony car. The Autobianchi A112 was a supermini built by a joint venture between an automaker (Fiat), tire company (Pirelli) and bicycle maker (Bianchi). The all Italian trio built a handful of models starting in 1955, mostly higher end versions of Fiat offerings that often showcased new or innovative technology (front wheel drive, fiberglass body elements, etc). In 1969 Bianchi was fully incorporated into the Fiat SpA corporate monster (folks often forget that Fiat owns Ferrari, Maserati, Lancia, Alfa Romeo...Chrysler) and the Autobianchi name was used to market versions of the Lancia product in Italy, but retained the Lancia name elsewhere. The Alfa Romeo Giulia 1300 super should not be confused with the larger 1750 Berlina. The Morris Minor was an economy car that was sold in huge quantities (over 1.2 million) from 1948 to 1972 built by Morris Motors Limited in the UK. It would be easy to mistake the Minor for an Austin Mini imitator (family sedan built in large quantities, many variants available, old styling lasting for decades), but the Minor is much larger and used a front-engine rear drive setup instead of the Mini's front-front. Spend any time in any 69 Fastback Mustang and people will routinely ask you if it is a Mach 1. From 1954 to 1957 a small enterprise in Compton, CA called Powell Manufacturing Company built a vehicle called the Sport Wagon. It used a 1941 Plymouth chassis...no really, each Powell was built on a used 1941 Plymouth chassis that had been reclaimed from a junkyard with a new steel body was plopped atop the used chassis.
