Brotwagen: 1989 Volkswagen Polo Wagon

This next car reminds me of those 3D image posters that were all the rage in the 90s -- you know...the ones where you could only see the image if you focused your eyes on a distant point...and then you still couldn't quite tell what you were looking at (the only way I could see them is if I would cross my eyes and then the 3D image would be inverted...I must be some kind of freak..anyway...).  All the basic elements of this car are familiar...but the entire package is totally foreign to these American eyes...because Volkswagen has sold a bizallion cars in the USA since the 1930s, but it has never sold the Polo here. Find this 1989 Volkswagen Polo Wagon offered for $5900 in Long Island, NY via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

Shooting Brake: 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Breadvan

The C3 generation Corvette is the ugly redheaded step cousin of the Vette world -- stuck in the back row at Corvette car shows and regularly given swirlies in the locker room toilet.  However, if you want an affordable Vette from the 1960s, the C3 is just about the only way to go, and if you want to modify a Corvette into a shooting brake, it might as well be a C3.  Find this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Breadvan offered for $20,000 in Junction City, KY via craigslist.  Tip from Seant.

15k: Mako Smurf: 1968 Chevrolet Corvette

Ah, the C3 Vette.  Loved by 80s enthusiasts around the world and known for its mako-shark looks, the C3 generation Corvette (1968-1982) splits the styling gap between the timeless C2 and bland C4. From a price perspective a used C3 was a bargain by the late '80s and many went under the customizer's knife...or hatchet.  Of course, criticizing those customs is un-American and will land you in re-education camp.  Find this 1968 Chevrolet Corvette custom currently bidding on ebay for $13,000 reserve-not-met with 7 days to go, located in Clifton, NJ.

5k: Basketcase: 1963 Ford Falcon Sedan Delivery Deluxe

The Falcon sedan delivery was a bread-van shaped 2-door sold in the first and second generation Falcon platform for light commercial use. The Falcon name was also used on the larger Econoline Van, but that was called the Club Wagon and was a significantly larger vehicle with a cab forward setup.  Regular readers will remember the sweet Shelby parts hauler replica that sold last summer, but the price was high, so this is your chance to get one for cheap.  Find this 1963 Ford Falcon Deluxe Sedan Delivery Wagon for sale in Chicago, IL currently bidding for $1,525 on ebay with 6 days to go.

20k: Breadvette!! 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Shooting Brake

The C3 generation Chevrolet Corvette was sold from 1968-1982 as a coupe, T-top and convertible, but never was it offered as a shooting brake/breadvan.  That hasn't stopped blow torch epoxy wielding customizers from creating what could have been the offspring of a C2 Vette and Volvo 1800ES.  Find this 1969 Chevrolet Corvette Shooting Brake for sale in Auburn, CA for $19,500 via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy.

15k: 1973 Corvette Sports Wagon "Riddler!"

The C3 Corvette (1968-1982) wasn't the prettiest Corvette...and by the early 70s it was smog choked slow and shoddily assembled.  That didn't stop a team of madmen from Vic's Corvettes in Excelsior, MI from creating a custom breadvan version of the C3 vette.  This 1973 Chevy Corvette Sports Wagon is for sale in Gardnerville, NV for $14,500 buy-it-now on ebay.
