Just a Dash: 1989 Fiat Tipo DGT

When they work, we all love digital dashes - I think this is a foregone conclusion. But apparently those in charge of naming the Fiat Tipo DGT were so fond of their pixelated panel that they named the whole entire car for it; an admirable feat. Find this 1989 Fiat Tipo DGT for sale in Providence, RI for an undisclosed number of lira via craigslist. Tip from Carter.

Late Graduation: 1991 Alfa Romeo Spider

For some reason, the value of Series 4 Alfa Spiders remain substantially higher than the late Series 2 and 3. If you must have the more modern car with the Bosch L-jet EFI and revised body lines, it's somewhat difficult to find a bargain on one that's only just nice enough to reliably beat the piss out of while still being presentable. Find this pretty decent and lightly modified 1991 Alfa Romeo Spider for sale on Johns Island, SC for $6,500 via craigslist.

Crunchy but Fun: 1978 Alfa Romeo Alfetta

Also known as the car Cameron Fry drove in Ferris Bueller's day off, the Alfetta was a spirited Italian sedan in a time when pretty much everything in life sucked. Fun has since been the theme for this particular Alfa which now awaits its final owner. Find this 1978 Alfa Romeo Alfetta for sale in Seattle, WA for a hopefully negotiable $2,800 via craigslist.

Little Alfa: 1977 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2.0

Chances are I will never own an Italian car, and I'm not really sure my grass roots mechanical abilities would afford me the skill to maintain such a beast.  If I did consider wading into the world of Rosso Corsa, I would want to cut my teeth on something less recognizable and forgiving of my mechanical malaise. That way, I could make a complete mess of it and no one would be the wiser.  Find this 1977 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV 2.0  near Los Angeles, CA for $4,500 via craigslist.

Can I Graduate?: 1988 Alfa Romeo Sypder Graduate

Compared to our Graduate featured here, most Italian roadsters on craigslist are in summer school, half-drunk and cramming for the finals, cracked out on energy drinks and beef jerky, with lots of work required for a promising future. Either that or they just finished their MBA and tricked someone into paying them heaps of money and are plain fiscally out of our league. On the contrary, find this clean cut and affordable recent Grad, a 1988 Alfa Romeo Graduate Spyder on craigslist in Port St. Lucie, FL for $4,450 via craigslist. Tip from dascpcu

10k: GTV6 Powered: 1979 Alfa Romeo Alfetta

The Alfa Romeo Alfetta (tipo 116) was released in 1972 as a replacement for the Giulia based 1750 Berlina, even though a slightly larger sedan with the Berlina name (the 2000) was produced concurrently with the Alfetta.  Although Giuseppe Scarnati designed the original Giulia sedan, and the 1750 Berlina was a Giorgetto Giugiaro at Bertone design, the Alfetta fell back into Scarnati's lap and he created something much more modern looking that bares a strikingly resemblance to the E12 BMW 5-series.  TL;DR version: A bunch of Italian guys designed some cars.  Find this 1979 Alfa Romeo Alfetta with GTV6 power offered for $9,700 in Kenmore, WA via craigslist.  Tip from Gianni

10k: Almost A Quadrifoglio: 1982 Alfa Romeo GTV6 Callaway Twin Turbo

Use of the Quadrifoglio (four leaf clover) on an Alfa Romeo started on racing cars in the 1920s, but modern examples (such as 164, and Spider) use the emblem to denote a high end version of a particular car. This next vehicle isn't a Quadrifoglio Verde (or QV) but it does have a twin-turbo Callaway engine, so it gets a pass.  Find this 1982 Alfa Romeo GTV6 Callaway Twin Turbo here on eBay offered for $8,995 buy-it-now or make-offer, located in Baldwin, NY.

5k: Mialfa Romazda: 2000 Mazda MX-5 Custom 60s Alfa Look

This is why I keep telling people that drugs are bad.  The Mazda MX-5 is a fantastic automobile that brings endless smiles and a relentlessly reliable driving experience; the Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider is a hauntingly beautiful car with classic street cred, unmatched in its price range.  Unfortunately, if you try to combine them into one vehicle...well...let's just say it isn't as good as it looked on the paper you just rolled up for snorting purposes.  The Spider front end goes with the MX-5 body about as well as peanut butter goes with ebola between two pieces of white bread.  Find this 2000 Mazda MX-5 Custom 60s Alfa look offered for $8,000 in Laguna Beach, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Gianni...although he did ask us to say it was someone else...

15k: Trade For Milling Machine: 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider

The Giulietta Spider was a compact roadster built by Alfa Romeo from 1955 to 1965, styled by legendary design house Pininfarina.  The Spider is a classic by any definition and finding any example that isn't rusted to pieces for under $20k is rare.  Find this 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider offered for $16,500 somewhere in Canada via craigslist.  Tip from Fueltruck.

15k: Seller Submission: 1973 Alfa Romeo Giulia 1300 Super

The Alfa Romeo Giulia 1300 super should not be confused with the larger 1750 Berlina.  Although they shared many components and styling, the 1750 Berlina rides on a longer wheelbase and isn't as fun in the curves.  The Giulia 1300 on the other hand was the spiritual predecessor to fun sport sedans like the BMW 1600/2000/2002 and Datsun 510 - and combined a lightweight chassis with an eager engine.  Find this 1973 Alfa Romeo Giulia 1300 Super offered for $16,000 in Pensacola, FL via craigslist.  Seller submission from Josh T.

5k: St Patrick's Day: 1995 Alfa Romeo 164 Quadrifoglio

Saint Patrick was born somewhere in 5th century Roman occupied Britian (England or Scotland based on various sources) and spent a few years in captivity as a young man to Irish pirates, before returning as an adult and missionary to the emerald isle.  It is ironic, therefore, that the patron saint of Ireland isn't even Irish.  What better way to segue into a St Patrick's day special that also isn't Irish.  Find this 1995 Alfa Romeo 164 Quadrifoglio for sale in Signal Hill, CA currently bidding for $4,050 reserve-not-met with 6 days to go.

10k: Cool Italian: 1979 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT

The Alfa Romeo Alfetta (tipo 116) was built from 1972 to 1987 as a sedan and cool looking fastback coupe.  The Alfetta still lives in a no-man's-land between worn out new car and rising classic, but this one falls closer to the classic in condition.  Find this 1979 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT for sale in Wethersfield, CT for $9,500 via craigslist.  Tip from BigEgyptian.
