The Morris Minor was an economy family sedan from Morris Motors that was sold starting in 1948 and continuing through 1972. In the end over 1.2 million examples of the Sir Alec Issigonis designed cars were sold. The Morris Mini is the golden retriever of cars, instantly recognized and adored by the masses for its playful demeanor. Its introduction in 1958 was a precursor to the British invasion. Over the following decades, the unapologetically British runabout has had its identity seeped into the public view like Earl Grey tea on tooth enamel. In America, its diminutive size and largely untreated sheet metal left it vulnerable to to rust and Roadmasters alike, and the ones that haven't been flattened or decayed wind up over-restored to a price tag no Mini should bear. This one is still guilty on several counts of rust (they all are), but should have enough grunt to escape the current breed of American road predators. Today's Minor Traveller (wood framed station wagon) could easily be mistaken for another old slowmobile, but it has some major improvements under the hood. The Mini is a British motoring classic and was manufactured under various names from 1958-2000. It was small, cheap and spacious on the inside, available as a saloon (the kind with 4 seats, not with bar stools and cowboys), estate (wagon), van and pickup. It wasn't however offered as a double decker wheelchair/motorcycle hauler..until some enterprising individual with a welder created this 1976 Mini 'Double Decker' handicapped accessible...thing, for sale in Bucyrus, OH on ebay $6495 buy-it-now.
