5k: Chile Pepper: 1967 Fiat Abarth OT 1000 Spider

The Bertone designed and built Fiat 850 Spider was a small 2-sear roadster that sourced its rear engine setup and mechanical parts from the higher volume Fiat 850 sedan.  The nuts at Abarth created a hopped up version with a bigger engine and called it the Fiat Abarth OT 1000 Spider. Don't ask me what OT stands for because I don't know.  Maybe Over the Top?  Open Track?  Overtly iTalian?  Oxidizing Tin? Original Tankster?  Origami Truck?  Over Taken?  Organic Tomatoes? 50c: End Of An Era: 1986 Pontiac 1000

The Pontiac T1000 (later renamed 1000) was introduced to an awestruck public in 1981, but it was no terminator.  The little Pontiac shared all body stampings with the ice racing king Chevrolet Chevette, but it cost a few bucks more with the Pontiac badges.  The 1000 may have been badge engineering turned up to 11, but it was one of the last compact rear-drive platforms offered by any of the big three.  Find this 1986 Pontiac 1000 offered for $250 in Emmett, ID via craigslist.  Tip from Oldsmobuick.
