The AMC Eagle was a neat looking 4X4 compact crossover-car thing that beat the modern market to the compact crossover and defined traditional labeling of the time. The sedan/wagon/coupe versions were built on the AMC Concord chassis, but the 2-door SX/4, Kammback, & Sundancer models were built on the AMC Spirit subcompact chassis...but the important part is that they were powered by big inline-6s and could offroad like a Jeep. The E28 generation BMW 5-series market lives somewhere in that sweet no-mans-land between discarded junk and desirable classic, and the low mile, clean examples are starting to fetch decent money. The 524TD is a turbo diesel version was only imported into the US for two years. The USDM 524TD was sold with a low power diesel engine and an automatic transmission, making it just about the slowest, cheapest and least loved E28 available. The Bavaria was the name for the bigger engine version of what BMW internally called the New Six (E3 sedan, E9 coupe) for the US market. Volkswagen launched their second generation of the front-wheel-drive Scirocco in 1981 with updated styling by VW stylist Herbert Schäfer (the previous generation was penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro), but the name was still tricky to spell or pronounce. I'd love to own an RV and go glamping with the family, but my biggest problem is that the RVs that can get you to the best campsites won't always pack the right amount of gear and the big RVs won't let you get to the premium spots before they are all taken for the weekend.
