2JZ Swapped Wagon: 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300TD

Maybe I'm jaded...or maybe I've seen it all, but when I see a 2JZ swapped Mercedes-Benz wagon, I think to myself -- I've seen this car before...and while we here at DT have published our share (and everybody elses share too) of 2JZ (yo!) equipped Benzes, this particular car appears new to DT..but there must be something in the design of the W124 that lends it to 2JZ swaps, to the point that you can find engine/trans mount kits on on eBay. Find this 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300TD with 2JZ swap offered for $4,500 in East Bay SF, CA via craigslist. Tip from Hugh.

2JZ Swapped: 1984 Toyota Celica GTS

The 3rd generation (internally called A60) Celica was the final rear-drive chassis to use Toyota's Celica name.  The next generation used a transverse front-drive setup that has become a de facto standard for economy cars, but up through 1985 you could get a Celica from the factory with a longintudinal engine and right wheel drive...and today's example comes with a fresh 2JZ swap. Find this 1984 Toyota Celica GTS offered for $6,500 in Gilroy, CA via craigslist. Tip from FuelTruck.

Fast And Furious 17; Berlin Door Ding: 1988 Porsche 944 2JZ

The number of vehicles with swapped small block Chevy V8s is comical, to the point that they aren't really even that "special" anymore, but it makes sense because Chevy build a billion of their small blocks in every manner of vehicle from the Corvette to airport tugs.  But what is even funnier is that Toyota's 2JZ seems to be finding its way into every manner of vehicle, and while they didn't really build that many of the hot 2JZ-GTE versions (only built for the Supra Turbo and Japan only Aristo), but they did print out the standard 2JZ-GE version by the bucket load. Anyway, find this 1988 Porsche 944 2JZ offered for $12,900 in Homestead, FL via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

2JZ Yo: 1984 Buick Regal

Once upon a time, in a galaxy far far away, a really long time ago, there was a parallel universe where bearded Spocks ran amok.  They snatched the inventor of the Buick V6 and forced him to work at 7-11s (which only dispense soylent green from warm slurpee machines...it is a really terrible place) and Buick goes for years without a proper 6-cylinder engine, until the day that Toyota agrees to provide Buick with versions of Beyonce's favorite engine, (Beyonce is not a pop diva in this universe, she is a polydactic classical guitar player who made a fortune in frivolous litigation) the two-Jay-zed.  Errr...2JZ. Anyway, the 2JZ powered Buick Regals sold quite well and were equipped with a faux woodgrain interior and a spare plastic center console installed haphazardly where the passenger seat should be.  Beyonce is lucky this car has 2JZ under the hood because it'll fit none-Jay-Zees in the interior.  Find this 1984 Buick Regal with 2JZ swap offered for $1600 near Dallas, TX via craigslist.

Pick Your Poison: '72, '73, '74 Datsun Z Turbo Swaps

How do you like your eggs?  Fried, scrambled or poached?  That is an easy question, but I think a much harder one is how do you like your vintage turbo swapped Datsun Z cars-- with a Toyota 2JZ, Nissan RB20DET, or L28ET?  Because you can't have them all...you could, but I think it would be like eating 24 eggs for breakfast.  Which would you drive?

Wrupra or Suprangler: 1997 Jeep Wrangler 2JZ Turbo

I had it for a minute...and then I lost it.  I swear I understood why someone built this car...YES, got it again...nope...gone, lost, kaput.  This is such an interesting combination of Supra off-roading capability mixed with Jeep speed and JC Whitney style that I haven't seen in a long time...or ever.  Find this 1997 Jeep Wrangler with 2JZ turbo power here on eBay offered for $18,500 buy-it-now or make-offer located in Elmhurst, NY.

2JZ Swap: 1987 Toyota Pickup

The classic 80's Toyota Pickup is one of those cars you usually see covered in ladders or lawn equipment, because it is a workhorse.  It may be slow and ugly, but it is reliable, rugged, and the choice of vehicle for impromptu militias around the globe.  However, it is a light vehicle in stock configuration and could be monstrously fast if you figure out a way to make power and get traction.  Find this 1987 Toyota Pickup here on eBay bidding for $6,100 reserve-not-met with 2 days to go, located in Miami, FL.
