4 Liters of Desert Fun: 1995 Jeep Wrangler Sahara

The last few years has been an interesting time for cheap car lovers (like me, the other DT writers...and you) -- and mostly unfavorable.  Classics have jumped up across the board, late model interesting things have gotten serious interest and overhyped prices and the last decade of cars have not depreciated in the manner you would expect (I plan a full diatribe post on that later...) but it always makes me happy when I stumble on a car that is interesting, fun, well preserved, and cheap. It doesn't happen as often as it should, but they are still out there.  Find this 1995 Jeep Wrangler Sahara offered for $6,400 in Alameda, CA via craigslist.

TJ Big Six: 2001 Jeep Wrangler Sahara

I looked at this next car and said "wow, that is one well preserved 80s Jeep"...but then I noticed that the model year was a 2001?  Wow.  The TJ generation Jeep Wrangler was built from 1996 through 2006 on a chassis that was a mildly updated version of the 1986-1995 YJ Wranger that was originally developed by AMC during Renault ownership, which was just a slightly upgraded version of the CJ...you can see where this meandering path down Jeep history is going.  Find this 2001 Jeep Wrangler Sahara here on eBay offered for $6950 buy-it-now located in Ozone Park, NY.

Make tracks: 1999 Jeep Wrangler with Mattracks

Last week our E-i-C, who lives in temperate climes, made a reference to winter fading away and the comentariat that lives the subarctic took him to task. So for those of you in reader-ville, north of the 50th parallel, here's something to get you to the mailbox until hope returns. Find this 1999 Jeep Wrangler with Mattracks for sale in Kalispell, MT for $32,500 via craigslist.

Wrupra or Suprangler: 1997 Jeep Wrangler 2JZ Turbo

I had it for a minute...and then I lost it.  I swear I understood why someone built this car...YES, got it again...nope...gone, lost, kaput.  This is such an interesting combination of Supra off-roading capability mixed with Jeep speed and JC Whitney style that I haven't seen in a long time...or ever.  Find this 1997 Jeep Wrangler with 2JZ turbo power here on eBay offered for $18,500 buy-it-now or make-offer located in Elmhurst, NY.

DT 5.0 Best High Five: Lifted Junk

There are places around the world where having a lifted 4X4 is functional, useful, and downright essential for daily driving during monsoon season, winter, or Black Friday.  Los Angeles, California is not one of those places...so, naturally, I'm going to focus my search for lifted junk in the city of Angels.

MB Diesel Power: 1995 Jeep Wrangler

Mid Week Match-Up: Cabin Cruiser

Imagine for a minute that you own a vacation home in a remote location by a lake.  In the winter you visit for the skiing, and in the summer you head out for the fresh air, but it is too far to drive, so you fly into the local airport and take a cab to your little cottage.  Now, here is the question for today's Mid Week Match-Up, what do you keep in the garage for your local use?

A Call for Horrorods: 2005 Jeep Wrangler 4X4

It is that time of year again?  Christmas?  No..although I did see Christmas decorations in the dollar store the other day...I'm talking about the season of pumpkin spice.  This is the time of year when ever possible conceivable product is inundated with the aroma of pumpkin spice...not pumpkin, but the spices associated with pumpkin pie like cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves -- and so on.  So, in the store you've got pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin spice potato chips, pumpkin spice laundry softener (this tasted way ickier than it sounds), pumpkin spice moist towelettes, pumpkin spice Mobil 1, pumpkin spice white out (this smells delicious), pumpkin spice athletes food powder -- the list goes on.   For our part in pumpkin-spicegiving, we celebrate by featuring some of the best horrorods for sale around the web.  Find this 2005 Jeep Wrangler 4X4 here on eBay bidding for $5,600 reserve-not-met with 3 days to go, located in Tallahassee, FL.
