A Call for Horrorods: 2005 Jeep Wrangler 4X4

It is that time of year again?  Christmas?  No..although I did see Christmas decorations in the dollar store the other day...I'm talking about the season of pumpkin spice.  This is the time of year when ever possible conceivable product is inundated with the aroma of pumpkin spice...not pumpkin, but the spices associated with pumpkin pie like cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves -- and so on.  So, in the store you've got pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin spice potato chips, pumpkin spice laundry softener (this tasted way ickier than it sounds), pumpkin spice moist towelettes, pumpkin spice Mobil 1, pumpkin spice white out (this smells delicious), pumpkin spice athletes food powder -- the list goes on.   For our part in pumpkin-spicegiving, we celebrate by featuring some of the best horrorods for sale around the web.  Find this 2005 Jeep Wrangler 4X4 here on eBay bidding for $5,600 reserve-not-met with 3 days to go, located in Tallahassee, FL.

15k DTween: 19XX Batman Freaks Must See

Welcome to our first ever Halloween Daily Turismoween - if you are expecting to see a bunch of mint condition Alfa's and barn find Porsches, you will be severely disappointed.  What you will see today is carnage, mayhem, horror and just a pinch of awesome.  We didn't even know there was a company that built cars called "Batman Freaks", but boy are we glad we found this one.  It is an undisclosed model year Batman Freaks Must See and is for sale in Sarasota, FL for $15,500 or trade for "Coupe Vette".

Free: Used Witch Broom

You don't need to be a freegan to think this is a fantastic deal, but someone on craigslist posted this advertisment for a free used witch broom in New Hamshire.  Ad text follows:

FREE, the perfect ride for your mother in law or for some of you-your wife. I have only one available and cannot hold. This will be a first come-first serve basis. Great gas mileage, very little use, was parked most of the year under cover and only taken out in the cool month of October. Does not burn oil or leak fluids. No dents or even road blasting, everything works as it should, divorce forces placement. My loss is your gain! Happy halloween!

DTween: 1968 VW Van: Jack Kevorkian Death Van

Today's Horrorod comes with a serious side - not only is it a gruesomely slow and dilapidated, but it was owned by a notorious murderer and was the site of many deaths.  Jack Kevorkian was a well known advocate for euthanasia (not to be confused with 'youth-in-asia' - that is much different) and assisted suicide for terminally ill or suicidal folks - but which ever side of the death debate you find yourself, you've got to agree this 1968 VW Type 2 Van previously used by Kevorkian to conduct his 'business' is extremely creepy and we wouldn't set foot in it  (Thanks to DT reader Erich for the tip).

DTween 5k: Motorcycle Hearse Trailer; Horrorod

If a full sized hearse won't fit in your driveway, and a VW powered casket-car isn't moving enough for you - perhaps you should consider this unspecified model year Motorcycle Hearse Trailer located in Belle Fourche, SD currently for sale on ebay bidding starts at $3,000, reserve-not-met.

DTween/WW 5k: Human Powered Velomobile

Today we have a combined Daily Turismoween and Wasteland Wednesday post and you'll have to stay with us to understand our reasoning.  It is also the first human powered vehicle to be featured by the Daily Turismo and is one of a kind.  This home-built Human Powered Velomobile was for sale in Fullerton, CA via ebay but failed to get a single bid at $500 and we hope the seller would be willing to accept offers if he re-lists the car item.

5k DTween: 1948 Chevy Truck Ratrod Toyota Hilux Diesel Horrorod

It must be Christmas in Michigan because we just got a hot tip for a Horrorod from a reader and it is indeed a doozy - not a Duesenberg, but a doozy of a horrorod.  This 1948 Chevy Truck Ratrod Pickup powered by a Toyota Hilux Diesel engine is for sale on ebay $5,500 buy-it-now in Christmas, MI (Thanks to tip from DT reader Andrew L).

10k DTween: Custom Built Chopper Transport Horrorod

It doesn't get much more horrific than a custom car built on a horrible chassis with mediocre components, questionable build quality, is unfinished...and the seller is asking premium price.  No, we aren't talking about a brand new Fisker Karma - we are talking about this Custom Built Chopper Transport Horrorod for sale on ebay starting bid $10,000 with no reserve and located in Livingston Manor, Sullivan County, NY.

5k: 1969 Volkswagen Casket Car

We at the Daily Turismo don't share Jeremy Clarkson's (of Top Gear fame) cellular level hatred of the VW Beetle based on its "woeful handling or the involvement of Hitler in the original design," but we do think they are for the most part slow and boring.  This 1969 Volkswagen Beetle based "casket car" currently bidding for $1650 on ebay has removed the boring from the Beetle and replaced it with a healthy splattering of death and mayhem...but don't worry, it is still slow, and is located in Palos Heights, IL (Big thanks to multiple tippers - Day M & Scott in San Jose)

Daily Turismoween Update; Free T-Shirt up for grabs + 15K: 1960 Sprint Car!

Just a quick update to DT readers - the Daily Turismo free T-shirt is still up for grabs as we have not received a single Horrorod suggestion.  If we don't get one before Oct 31 we will be forced to wear the T-shirt ourselves and rip if off at midnight in a Hulk Hogan style display of strength, judgement and awesome.  Perhaps someone will record it with an iphone and post it on the internet.  DT will now return to our regular programming...which is this 1960 Street Legal Sprint Car available for $15,000 buy-it-now on ebay - located in Lakeside, CA.

Daily Turismoween: 2007 Dodge Charger BatMobile

Today's Turismoween post is a cautionary tale for all would-be crime fighters.  From time to time people decide to become real life vigilantes, and one of our favorites is the "Petoskey Batman."  The Petoskey Batman recently landed in some trouble with Commissioner Gordon  Sgt. Jeff Gorno of the Petoskey State Police when he interfered with a crime scene by searching for a suspect on foot - and we think the PB should have his own car.  And what would be better for a Batman than this 2007 Dodge Charger BatMobile currently for sale in Madison, WI for $7500?

Daily Turismoween Challenge

In order to celebrate Halloween Daily Turismoween, we at DT would like to send out an open challenge to our readers to find the best/worst cars for the month of October.  We want cars that raise the hair on the back of your neck worse than the scariest haunted house at Knott's Scary Farm.  The winner will get a Daily Turismo t-shirt shipped to him for free- but please note that we don't ship to PO Boxes or Insane asylums, so it probably rules out most of our regular commenters.

An example for your viewing pleasure is this 1947 Ford Pickup Horrorod for bidding on ebay for $15,700 reserve-not-met.
