5k: In The Jeans: 1973 AMC Gremlin Levi's Edition

In 1973 AMC  released a Levi's option interior for the Gremlin which was actually made from spun nylon instead of cotton due to NHTSA fire regulations.  The Levi's interior didn't do much to change the fact that the Gremlin was an abominable little compact but it is good for a few laughs.  Find this 1973 AMC Gremlin Levi's Edition for sale in Costa Mesa, CA for $4,050 reserve-not-met.

DTO: Hella Cool: 1970 SAAB 96 Rally Car

The SAAB 96 traces its lineage back to the beginnings of the Trollhättan based automaker, and was the final evolution of their original aerodynamic beetle-esque form that began with the Ur-SAAB.  The 96 left the factory powered by a small V4 or two-stroke engine and could best be described as leisurely...with the notable exception of factory rally prepared examples.  Find this 1970 SAAB 96 Factory Rally Car for sale in Southport, CT for $24,900 or best offer on ebay.  Tip from Kaibeezy. Update 2/5/2014 10:20AM - This auction has been re-listed.

5k: Basketcase: 1963 Ford Falcon Sedan Delivery Deluxe

The Falcon sedan delivery was a bread-van shaped 2-door sold in the first and second generation Falcon platform for light commercial use. The Falcon name was also used on the larger Econoline Van, but that was called the Club Wagon and was a significantly larger vehicle with a cab forward setup.  Regular readers will remember the sweet Shelby parts hauler replica that sold last summer, but the price was high, so this is your chance to get one for cheap.  Find this 1963 Ford Falcon Deluxe Sedan Delivery Wagon for sale in Chicago, IL currently bidding for $1,525 on ebay with 6 days to go.

10k: 16k Miles: 1991 Volvo 940 Turbo

The first car to leave a factory (not really a factory, more like a workman's shed...) bearing the Volvo name was the ÖV4 -- the name was an abbreviation for "Öppen Vagn 4 cylindrar" (open carriage, four cylinder).  The ÖV4, launched in 1927, used a classic longitudinal 4-cylinder engined mounted to a wooden chassis and powering the rear wheels, basic stuff that went unchanged for over 70 years.  Sure, a few extra body panels were added, seat belts, turbochargers, FM radio, but the last rear-drive Volvo to leave the Swedish assembly line was a 900-series car, the final note in a long line of ice-hoonable vehicles.  Find this 1991 Volvo 940 Turbo for sale in Riverside, RI currently bidding on ebay for $5,327 reserve-not-met with $10,900 buy-it-now.

1k: 4(WS) Trick Pony: 1989 Mazda MX-6 GT

Stop me if you've heard this one before: A four-cylinder Japanese front-wheel-drive pony car made during a burgeoning tuner culture, equipped with an trick four-wheel steering system. Now think less obscure and more turbo-y than a Prelude. That's right, it's the 1989 Mazda MX-6 GT for $2,550 in San Jose, CA.  Words and tip from DT commenter & contributor  slowcarSLOW-MPGlol.

5k: 'Merican: 1966 Plymouth Sport Fury

The Plymouth Fury was a premium priced, top-of-the-line full-sized offering from Chrysler loaded with premium features and could be powered by all sorts of crazy wedge head or hemi V8s.  Today the Fury isn't highly valued by collectors like a Barracuda or some of the other high priced Mopar muscle out there, but the 2-door car is sharp looking and just as cool.  Find this 1966 Plymouth Sport Fury for sale somewhere in the 818 for $6,995 via cars.com.

5k: Front Drive Fun? 1987 Honda CRX Si

The Honda CRX was an interesting two-seat front-drive economy sports car that really shook up the market when it was introduced in 1983.  There were few other cars on the road that could be optioned to get 40mpg city/50mpg highway (in the CRX HF) or provide an exhilarating driving experience (CRX Si).  It is really ashame that the modern remake (CRZ) offers neither frugal fuel sipping or fun driving, but picking up a used CRX is easy and the wiser choice.  Find this 1987 Honda CRX Si for sale in Chandler, AZ currently bidding for $5,000 with a few hours to go via ebay.

15k: Seller Submission: 1966 Volvo 1800S with GM V6 Swap

1k: Train Wreck: 1967 Ford Bronco

The Ford Bronco was launched in 1967 as a competitor to the Jeep CJ-5 and International Harvester Scout.  The Bronco was an entire blank sheet of paper design and as much more modern than any of its competition and available with Ford's Windsor V8.  Today's featured Bronco is the most beaten up Bronco we've seen since...well...last night in Super Bowl XLVIII.  Find this 1967 Ford Bronco currently bidding for $1,148 in Bedford, PA via ebay.

2k: Modified What? 1996 Mitsubishi Mirage 4G63 Turbo

The Mitsubishi Mirage has all the presence of a raw potato. It's a forgettable car. But when life hands you lemons, you turbocharge the crap out of it and hoon it until it dies. Find this 4G63-swapped 1996 Mitsubishi Mirage for $2,000 in Los Angeles, CA. Words and tip from DT commenter & contributor  slowcarSLOW-MPGlol.

2k: Funny Face: 1993 Nissan NX2000

Nissan's SR20DE engines have long been a favorite in the tuning community, providing reliability and power in very small packages for everything as mundane as Sentras and Pulsars to the more exotic 180/200SX, Infiniti G20, and only-in-Japan Silvias. Long popular with the crapcan racing community, Nissan Sentra SE-Rs are the poster child to us non-drift focused car nuts. But did you know that for three years, Nissan offered a smaller, sportier alternative to the SE-R for similar money, with wider tires and bigger brakes standard, and not just overseas, but right here on the North American continent? Okay, you're car geeks, so you probably already know about the NX2000, but it's time for a refresher (and an introduction for those of you who are still scratching your heads).  Find this 1993 Nissan NX2000 for sale via vast.com classifieds  for a mere $1,800 in Dallas, TX.  Words and tip from DT commenter & contributor Bill Haworth, aka  Tetsu_no_Usagi.

15k: On a Hunch: 1956 Plymouth BelVamino

The world of custom pickup trucks is indeed a strange place, sometimes scary, often daunting, but always fascinating.  You need to really open your mind and take a Forrest Gump box of chocolate approach to opening up a custom truck ad...because you never know what yer gonna get.  Find this 1956 Plymouth Custom El Camino for sale in Saunton, IL for $13,950 via countryclassiccars.com.  Tip from Allen G.

DT Admin: Time To Change The Oil

The Daily Turismo has teams of skilled programmers working around the clock to constantly try to improve the user experience at this world class interweb site...okay...that isn't even remotely true since this website is just a light fender bender away from being declared a total loss.  Mostly we've got a fat hairy guy named Bob who yells at us about how we need to use more css scripts and foams in his goatee. That isn't true either, but we have sacked the guy who did the previous badges and suckered convinced regular tipper and contributor Kaibeezy to generate an entirely new catalog of badges of our cars.  What are badges?  The ridiculous lo-res images that appear at the top of each post, which have been redesigned to be hip, cool and totally ambiguous.  Pay attention.  If you can't figure this out, how are you going to rebuild the generator on that jalopy we featured and you bought with your life savings.

5k: Magic: 1972 Alfa Romeo 2000 GT Veloce

The Alfa Romeo GTV tipo 105 has a narcotizing waft of affordability (thanks doctordel!) that is only matched by a few cars in this vintage category.  The price/value ratio, 4-cylinder engine, 2+2 seating and general coolness is matched by the Volvo 1800 and BMW 2002...but somehow the Alfa's calls louder to me.  The Volvo sings a reliable melody by JH Roman, while the BMW hums Wagnerian opera tunes; the Alfa...well, she belts out a siren song that screams like the high F in the Queen of the Night's aria from the Mozart's The Magic Flute.  Find this 1972 Alfa Romeo GTV for sale in Tusin, CA currently bidding on ebay for $6,670 with 1 day to go.
