Happy St Patrick's Day: 1981 DeLorean Snowcat

It is St Patrick's Day, so time to share some Irish built cars...which is pretty much the 1960 Shamrock (10 built...8 are still known to exist) or the DeLorean DMC-12...which YOWZA the prices have been batapulted into silly zone...so now we are stuck with the not-so-Irish...but connected to Mr John Z DeLorean, who is a known connoisseur of white powder...Anyway, for a few years the LMC (Logan Manufacturing Company) built snowcats under the name of DMC (DeLorean Motor Company) and sold them to ski slope groomers and city work crews who needed something to move snow. Find this 1981 DeLorean Snowcat  in Essex Junction, VT via craigslist.

2 Fer 1: 1981 DeLorean DMC-12

Just what exactly is a DeLorean project anyway...I thought all DeLorea were projects?  The DeLorean  DMC-12 was a gull-wing equipped sports machine built on a fiberglass monocoque and covered by cosmetic stainless steel panels.  The DMC-12 was designed by noted pasta designer Giorgetto Giugiaro and was powered by a mid mounted PRV6...but don't let that hold you back because they are HOT HOT HOT and prices are redonkulous.  Find these 1981 (and 1982) Delorean DMC12 projects offered for $18000 in Sparta (THIS IS SPARTA!) , TN via craigslist.  Tip from Dave.

Monster Truckin: 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 Custom

Marty McFly may have driven Doc Brown's DeLorean into the past (and then back to the future), but if you watched the film carefully, you will remember that he lusted after a Toyota 4X4 pickup, which Biff was nice enough to wax for him in the end.  Perhaps if Marty had built the original time machine it would look a little bit more like this thing.  Find this 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 Custom here on eBay with starting bid of $9,999 located in Hickory Flat, MI with 2 days to go.  Tip from Patrick.

Back To The Futurismo: 1982 DeLorean DMC-12

A flying DeLorean...sure, I can get behind that.  Even a hoverboard, well we sort of have those...but the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series -- that is just ridiculous.  Today is Oct 21st, 2015, the day to which Marty McFly jumped forward at the end of the original Back To The Future and spent the bulk of his time in Back To The Future II.  So sit back, pop open a cold one, and enjoy today's collection of cars from the Robert Zemeckis trilogy.  Let's kick things off the right way with this 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 here on eBay bidding for $23,700 with an auction that ends at October 21, 2015 at 4:29, located in Brentwood, TN.

20k: Luck of the Irish: 1981 DeLorean DMC-12

Happy St Patrick's Day to everyone, lets kick of this festival of drinking, driving (but not at the same time please!), and singing with a tip from reader Andy L who writes: Dear Staff at Daily Turismo, Here is a selection for your St. Patty's Day.  I can't think of a more well-known Irish-produced car and this one comes closest to making the DT price cut.  It seems like a pretty good example of a DeLorean for the money.  These are getting more and more valuable as those who saw Back to the Future as a kid on VHS reach mid-life crisis age.  Who wouldn't want to own one of these, if only for a little while?  Find this 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 offered for $25,000 buy-it-now or make-offer here on eBay, located in Hollywood, FL.

Z is for Zonked: 1981 (John Z.) DeLorean DMC-12

"Z is for DeLorean? What are you guys high on?" Whatever it is, it isn't as good as the suitcase full of cocaine that Federal agents allegedly used to entrap John Z. with drug trafficking charges. However, with the power of the PRV V6 behind your back and the promise of open roads ahead, the DMC-12 is the only narcotic you'll need to reach the Zenith of automotive zest. Even if where we're going, we don't need...roads. And even if there are...roads, maybe the DeLorean is the ultimate DT winter beater, since it carries massive weight over the rear (traction) wheels and the stainless steel construction will negate the possibility of structural rust. Oh wait; the backbone chassis is mild steel. Find this 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 for sale in Delavan, IL for $21950 via craigslist.

10k: Basket Full of Snakes: 1981 DeLorean DMC-12

The DeLorean DMC-12 is certainly the most recognized car to be built in Ireland, closely followed by the 1960's Shamrock and the 1980s TMC Costin.  That isn't to say that various manufacturers haven't built cars in 20th largest island in the world, including the first VW Beetle to be assembled outside Germany (in 1950) and various Fords, Hondas, BMCs - but the DMC-12 was one of the few built for export.  Today we wish you a Happy Saint Patrick's day and hope you can banish the snakes out of these two basket case DMC-12s before you get bitten.  First up is this 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 offered for $16,900 in Redlands, CA via craigslist.

10k: I Love You, You Love Me: 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 project

The DMC-12 is a futuristic looking sportscar with a fiberglass monocoque covered by cosmetic stainless steel panels from the mind of John DeLorean and the pen of Giorgetto Giugiaro of Ital Design.  The DMC-12 was powered by a mid mounted PRV V6,assembled in Northern Ireland and was only available in polish stainless finish.  Find this 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 purple project for sale in Nelsonville, OH for $10,000 obo.  Tip from the Hack Mechanic.

15k: 188MPH: 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 Turbo

The DeLorean  DMC-12 was a gull-wing equipped sportscar with a fiberglass monocoque covered by cosmetic stainless steel panels.  The DMC-12 was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro of Ital Design and was powered by a mid mounted V6, a recipe that sounded great on paper, but once assembled in Northern Ireland and powered by the PRV V6; it was a disappointment to say the least.  Find this 1981 Delorean DMC-12 With a 570HP Twin Turbo Buick V6 for sale in San Jose, CA currently bidding for $13,300 via ebay.

15k: 1981 DeLorean DMC-12

Tired of being ignored by the FBI? Have a briefcase full of "merchandise" that needs to be quickly converted into cash to save your ailing manufacturing business? Wish you could go back in time to set up your parents in high school, only to have your mom fall for you instead of your dorky dad-to-be? Yes, yes, yes? Then may we suggest the car that rust loves to hate, the 1981 DeLorean DMC-12. The market price for a nice example has hovered around $25k, seemingly since the car was released. However, a more dailyturismo-budget-friendly "seen better days" example is available on craigslist in Orange, CA at $12500 asking price.
