5k: 1976 Cadillac Seville Pickup; Riddler

Unique cars often stimulate interesting questions; for example the Subaru STi make us want to ask - how did a group of adults release a car that looks like this?  Another question: why would a single person buy any new Lincoln offering?  But today's feature item makes us ask the following question: what would the Chevy SSR look like if it had been designed by a group of meth addicts in backwoods Georgia?  The answer is this 1976 Cadillac Seville pickup currently for sale in Cumming, GA on ebay with a buy it now of $2,500. We continue this feature in the style of the riddler...any questions?

10k Flash: 1983 Fiat Ritmo Abarth 130 TC

The Fiat Ritmo (badged Strada in the USA) was a compact front wheel drive hatchback distinctively styled by Bertone and sold around the world from 1978-1988.  The basic edition has been called the Fiat Gitmo, because driving one is humiliating and pointless experience, but the hopped up Abarth badged 130 TC version had all the elements of a thrash-able hot hatch.  This 1983 Fiat Ritmo Abarth 130 TC edition is for sale in Miami, FL bidding starts at $8,000 with no reserve with 1 day to go.

10k: 1957 Fiat 600 Abarth Tribute; La Carrera Panamericana Veteran

It is a few days late for the Mayan Carpocalypse, but any veteran of La Carrera Panamericana road race in Mexico deserves this badge.  This 1957 Fiat 600 was a vintage racer given an Abarth tribute paintjob and raced in La Carrera Panamericana vintage road race in Mexico in 2007 is now for sale in Denver, CO currently bidding at $8,000 with reserve-not-met.

5k: 1978 AMC Pacer DL Wagon, Riddler

The 1975-80 Pacer, also known as the 'Flying Fishbowl' was a subcompact car built by American Motors Corp.  Released as a fuel efficient compact when the big three were pumping out land yachts, it did surprisingly well due to the early 70s oil crisis - but not well enough to overcome its controversial styling.  Offered as a hatchback and wagon, the Pacer had a stunning rear end designed purportedly for aerodynamics but the seller of today's feature hacked it off and turned this Pacer into a pickup.  This 1978 AMC Pacer DL wagon is for sale in Lake Oswego, OR currently bidding for $1,985 reserve-not-met with 7 days to go.  (Big thanks to tip from DT regular Scot)

10k: 1983 Porsche 911 SC Targa

The Porsche 911 is surely on every car-nut's bucket list, its iconic shape, raspy exhaust note and bare-bones performance is exemplary but prices in the last 10 years have skyrocketed to downright silly.  Its hard to get into a decent running/driving 911 for Daily Turismo money (ok, cheap ones do come up every once in a blue moon), and its great to see a running, low mile example for sale like this 1983 Porsche 911 SC Targa for sale in the SF Bay Area, CA for $12,500 via craigslist.  (Another fantastic tip from DT regular Kaibeezy)

2k: 1976 Bricklin SV-1

The Bricklin SV-1 was a short lived Canadian built 'sports-car,' the creation of a millionaire dreamer Malcolm Bricklin and designed by noted 60's Batmobile designer Herb Grasse.  The story of the SV-1 sounds a lot like the DeLorean - motivated rich/famous dude thinks he can build a car better than 1000s of engineers at major automotive company and the resulting car is lauded by the press as visionary but ultimately a tremendous flop...hey, did someone just mention Tesla...how cruel...This 1976 Bricklin SV-1 (the name means Safety Vehicle One) is  for sale in the Big Easy for the bargain price of $1999 via craigslist.

10k Flash: 1974 Dodge Charger - 440 AT - Plum Crazy!

The 1974 Dodge Charger was build on Chrysler's B-body platform and featured huge V8s and crazy colors.  As the muscle car era came to a close, so did the awesome legacy of the Charger as the 1975 cars were odd looking re-badged Chrysler Cordobas...ewww.  Relive the glory of the early 70s with this 1974 Dodge Charger with a 440 cubic inch V8, auto trans, plum crazy paint and white vinyl top, all for sale at a Hyundai dealer in Houston, TX currently bidding on ebay for $9,700 reserve-not-met with 2 days to go.

10k: 1931 Ford Model A; Patina'd Survivor

The Ford Model A was the successor to Ford's famous Model T - and a staggering 4.8 million of these little runabouts were sold from 1927-1931 in a array of styles including panel vans, fordor sedans, roadsters, pickups, roadster-pickups and coupes.  The coupe is surely the coolest to own and they are surprisingly cheap due to the quantity manufactured and relatively uselessness for modern transportation needs.  We can't but help want this 1931 Ford Model A 'survivor' 5 window coupe, for sale in Arlington, TX currently bidding on ebay for $7,300 reserve-not-met with 2 days to go.

5k Flash: 1982 Toyota Celica Supra Mk II P-Type

The Mk II Celica Supra was Toyota's answer to the 6-cylinder Datsun Z-cars and shared many components with its Celica little brother.  The Supra was designed to be a drivers car with its 4 wheel independent suspension, tuned by Lotus, and featuring a variable rate rack-and-pinion steering system.  This 1982 Toyota Celica Supra Mk II Performance-Type is for sale in Minneapolis, MN currently bidding on ebay for $5,500 with a few hours to go. (edit 1/4/13 11:52AM PST - we had the wrong link posted originally - but just fixed it and the auction failed to meet reserve at $5,500)

5k: 1984 Pontiac Fiero w/ Chevy V8 and V-8 Archie Feno Body Kit

The 1984 Pontiac Fiero looks so good on paper - mid engine, manual transmission, fiberglass body; but failed to meet expectations because it was slow and (in classic GM fashion) painfully under sprung/damped.  A number of enterprising individuals tried to remedy this, none so radically as V-8 Archie - who started by shoehorning Chevy V8s into Fieros and later build exotic looking body kits.  This 1984 Pontiac Fiero has recieved a Chevy V8 transplant and is wearing a V-8 Archie full body kit - for sale in Shawnee, KS currently bidding at $3,800 with 2 days to go.

5k Flash: 1978 Pontiac Firebird Esprit

Introduced by Pontiac in 1970 and made famous by Burt Reynolds and James Garner - the 2nd generation Firebird is a poor man's classic today.  The Bandit drove one around Jackie Gleason's bumbling southern accented highway patrolman in Smokey and the Bandit, and Jim Rockford did all manner of j-turns, (aka the Rockford turn) jumps and crashes in his gold Firebird.  Make your own TV show/movie with this 1978 Pontiac Firebird Esprit for sale in San Jose, CA for $3600 via craigslist. (Big thanks to tip from Kaibeezy T)

5k Flash: 1979 Mercedes Benz W116 280SE

More good stuff from one of our favorite ebay sellers, pebbleandrock (aka cerealmarshmallows), this time in the form of a W116 - the original version of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class - for Sonderklasse or "special class."  This 1979 Mercedes-Benz 280SE W116 sedan is for sale on ebay for the bargain price of $2,750 buy-it-now in San Diego, CA.

5k: 1986 Innocenti Mini Turbo de Tomaso

The name DeTomaso concurs up images of 351 Ford powered mid-engine supercars, but the company founded by an Argentina born Alejandro de Tomaso - who fled his homeland in his 20s after being implicated in a plot to overthrow then president Juan Perón - also built small economy cars for a time.  De Tomaso had a short lived career as a racing driver in Formula 1 fueled by enormous inherited wealth of his wife Isabelle Haskell who also raced competitively in motorsports, and together founded De Tomaso Automobili S.p.A. in 1958.  DeTomaso built a number of vehicles for racing and put his name on a few cars including the Innocenti Mini, which was a Beronte styled hatchback built on a BMC Mini running gear, the rights to manufacturing sold to DeTomaso in 1976.  Confused?  Prepare for more confusion as we feature this 1986 Innocenti Mini Turbo de Tomaso for sale by John Scotti Automotive in Montreal, CA via autotrader.ca - for an undisclosed price.

5k Flash: 1987 Suzuki Samurai 4X4; Original Survivor

The 2nd generation Samurai is a compact off-roader from Suzuki, built from 1981-1998.  The Samurai makes a miserable ride on tarmac, but is legendary for its off-road capability, with one recently beating the Jeep record for highest altitude achieved for a 4-wheeled vehicle at 21,942 ft.  We think the Samurai is a logical choice for someone needing 4WD capabilities as they are cheap, easy to fix and built like small tanks.  This 1987 Suzuki Samurai is for sale in San Bernardino, CA and currently bidding on ebay for $2,550 reserve-not-met with less than 1 day to go.

5k: 1993 Suzuki Swift 5-spd; Survivor

The Suzuki Swift/Geo Metro/Chevy Metro/Pontiac Firefly was a subcompact hatch from General Motors with powertrain developed by Suzuki and sold from 1988-1999.  The Swift wasn't swift in the least bit, but it was available with a 5 speed manual transmission, fully independent suspension and a super light 1600 lb curb weight.  This 1993 Suzuki Swift is offered with 'low' miles in Stevenson, WA, currently bidding on ebay for $2,800 with 2 days to go.

5k: 1979 Mazda RX-7 w/ Ford 5.0 V8

The first generation Mazda RX-7 was introduced in the US market in 1978 as a direct competitor to the 260Z, Celica GT, Mustang, Camaro, Porsche 924 etc.  It had an excellent chassis and a free revving rotary engine that made for a fantastic driving experience, but was lacking in power and torque.  Swap in a domestic V8 and the RX-7 transforms from Dr Jekyll to Mr Hyde - like this 1979 Mazda RX-7 with Ford 5.0 V8 for sale in San Diego, CA and currently bidding on ebay for $6,500 with 4 days to go.

5k: 1987 Dodge Ram 1500 - Official Indy 500 Truck - Not a Free Candy Van

Each new year brings new resolutions and ours is simple; we resolve to post more awesome vans.  The reason is simple; vans are great for hauling junk, people and, no matter what they say, chicks dig vans.  They will tell you all kinds of things about how they are creepy, and use long words like 'restraining order' - but the truth is deep down they love guys who drive around big windowless vans, especially ones with sweet vintage racing related graphics.  Check out this 1987 Dodge Ram 1500 Indy 500 Package currently bidding for $1300 bones on ebay located in Dickson, TN.  This is a fantastic price and saves you tons of money to fill it with candy and its also listed on craiglist for $1399 .
