Complete Sentences: 1983 Porsche 944

This next car looks almost too good to be true -- a low mile Porsche offered for less than 5-large with what looks like perfect paint.  And then I found the reason for the low price "Please email me with full and complete sentences to set up a time to view the car."  With my experience with buyers on craigslist, this car could be offered for a LONG time...but I completely agree with the seller's request.  Find this 1983 Porsche 944 offered for $4,500 in Santa Cruz, CA via craigslist.

LS6 Powered: 1985 Chevrolet Corvette

The C4 Corvette was first introduced in 1984 as the future of Corvette styling with a sleek and aerodynamic look.  The inside introduced a digital LCD dash display that was going to be the future of motoring. We can all be thankful that the future has moved past LCD dashes and plain wrapper styling...but this next C4 might have you tempted to go back to that future. Find this 1985 Chevrolet Corvette offered for $12,500 in Rhode Island via craigslist.  From Cory.

Super Man Gearbox: 2003 BMW M3 E46

If you want a late model car that looks good, goes fast, and gets lots of middle fingers from other drivers, look no further than an E46 M3. Seriously, I should know, I recently picked one up as a daily driver replacement for my 04 STI...and while the STI got interesting looks from people who assumed the owner was 18 years old and vaping (I assure you I am NEITHER) the BMW gets a completely different amount of disrespect from everyone who assumes you are a spoiled rich brat who doesn't use blinkers (once again, I assure you I use blinkers and am old enough to remember the 70s). Regardless, the E46 with SMG gearbox offers a moderately civilized driving experience on the open road, and a neck-snapping grin-inducing experience on the track that is hard to beat for the entry price...but not for long because prices are creeping up. Find this 2003 BMW M3 E46 here on eBay offered for $14,995 buy-it-now or make-offer located in Midlothian, VA.

Mid Week Match-Up: Car For A 16 Year Old Kid

Anyone who has kids has either encountered this issue or will sometime in the future -- what do you let your kid drive for a first car?  This week's Mid Week Match-Up request comes from Dee who asks DT's help in finding a first driver for her soon-to-be 16 year old son.  His grandpa wants him to start with a 60s Beetle (like a man!) and his dad is also a car guy (had a really nice late model STI for years) but Dee isn't quite sure she is willing to let her precious cargo drive something that was designed for 1930s life expectancy or is murderously fast.  Budget is flexible, but nothing new or that would spoil the kid. What do you guys suggest?

Wall Climber: 1992 Mitsubishi Pajero / Montero

People always ask how a car makes it to the pages of Daily Turismo.  I always tell them practice...practice. No seriously...the real trick is to be: (1) Interesting -- doesn't have to be an Alpine A110, but if you are a Civic, you'd better be the nicest Civic with some crazy gear ratios or an extraneous exhaust valve...(2) Cheap...not like $4.99 cheap...but affordable and not another example of some jerk trying to turn collecting cars into collecting stamps.  That's it. It also helps to be sent in as a tip. Like this next 1992 Mitsubishi Pajero offered for $7,600 located in Houston, TX via craigslist.  Tip from Jeff G.

Groovy: 1967 GMC Van

This next car comes as a tip from Zach Z who writes: It's... beautiful!  But then he sent another email a few minutes later: Okay, actually it's a mess, but, well, it could be beautiful.  So true.  Find this 1967 GMC Van offered for $2000 in Southeastern IA via craigslist.

Red Red Seats: 2005 Audi S4 Convertible

The B5 generation Audi S4 introduced V8 power to Audi's sport luxury compact offering...and that wasn't a bad thing for anyone involved.  Perhaps a few turbo enthusiasts missed the turbo lag and monstrous maintenance costs of the outgoing 2.7T powertrain, but everybody else marveled in the sweet V8 soundtrack and power everywhere.  Find this 2005 Audi S4 Convertible here on eBay offered for $7,990 buy-it-now or make-offer located in Claremont, CA with 16 days to go.

A Challenger Appears: 2007 Cadillac CTS Performance

BMW's infamous 3 Series (that is currently inexplicably also badged as a 4 Series) is the benchmark for sport-luxury sedans across the automotive world...and for good reasons.  So when a competitor says they've built a 3 Series beater, all of the automotive press rolls their collective eyes (or "i"s..heh!) and gets ready to defend the crowd favorite. But I had a chance to drive a competitor from Detroit back-to-back with the 3er about a decade ago...and I liked the CTS better. Does the Caddy withstand the test of time, or was it just a fluke? Find this 2007 Cadillac CTS Performance here on eBay bidding for $3,300 with 1 day to go, located in Cookeville, TN. Tip from DM.

It's The 4th of July Somewhere: 2000 Ford Mustang GT 5.4V8

In 1999 Ford restyled the SN-95 generation Mustang in something called New Edge...which, strangely, had nothing to do with the lead guitarist for U2...but incorporated a stealth fighter-esque look into Ford's vehicles. It was a major upgrade over the previous amorphous Mustang that looked to be one part 1st-gen Miata and two parts Pontiac Grand Prix...but it still lacks something that the Fox body had and the 5th-gen S-197 Mustang has...something called 'MURICA!  Oh.  Here.  Somebody fixed it.  Find this 2000 Ford Mustang GT 5.4V8 offered for $5000 in Richmond, VA. Tip from Push Rod.

Bleu Wedge Salad: 1979 Triumph TR7

When it comes to cheap British roadsters, the newer the car, the more you get for your money. Classic MGs and TRs up to the early '70s can command big bucks, but for the enthusiast on a budget a late '70s or '80s MGB, TR7, or TR8 will be in better condition than the same price point for an earlier car. The 7 is probably going to be the cheapest of those three, for good reasons. Find this 1979 Triumph TR7 for sale in North Fort Myers, FL for $4,000 via craigslist. Tip from Dascpcu.

Vee Six Vee Dub- 1991 VW GTI 3.6

The second generation of the VW GTI soldiered on until 1992 in the USA.  The later MK2 cars benefited from a roarty 16V 4 cylinder engine which made a respectable 134 hp.  Today's GTI rewrote the playbook for what can be done with one of these cars.  It's close to 300 hp 3.6 V-6 engine comes from a late model VW CC and has cool custom touches everywhere you look.  The custom GTI modifications are so well executed that it is hard to believe there is a reasonable asking price.  In the metro NYC area, there are tons of slammed VW's with stretched tires that literally are on different planet than this beast.  Find this 1991 VW GTI for sale in Lake Hopatcong, NJ for $9,800 via craigslist.

American Monster: 1969 Ford Torino GT

The Ford Torino was named after the Italian city of Torino, home of 2006 Winter Olympics and located in the same province as legendary Pininfarina design house.  Pininfarina would never have designed a car where the rear quarter panels are larger than two zip codes, but the Torino was designed in Detroit, a city where space is not a premium and the pot holes are legendary.  Find this 1969 Ford Torino GT here on eBay bidding for $10,200 reserve-not-met located in Nipomo, CA with 1 day to go.

TGB11 Cummins Diesel: 1975 Volvo C303

The C303 was the successor to the older C202 Laplander and had a distinguished military career of keeping moose safe in Scandinavia.  It makes the list of top ten unlikely motorsports icons; the C303 was victorious in the light truck class at the 1983 Paris Dakar Rally, but today's version is ready for some weekend camping. The C303 was powered by a B30 inline-6 from the factory, but today's model has been fitted with a proper hill climbing diesel Cummins 4BT.  Find this 1975 Volvo C303 here on eBay offered for $9,500 buy-it-now located in Parowan, UT with 3 days to go.

Coupe-a Sore-ass: 1966 Volvo 1800S

Today's Volvo is brought to you by the power of the discussion forum - an ancient technology that modern anthropologists are still trying to understand, one that was born before the days of social media and smartphones. Here at DT we like to put on our Indiana Jones hats and scour the old-fashioned classifieds of our favorite model-specific forums because sometimes a reasonably priced gem will surface. This one has some...uhh, needs at the rear, but is probably worth the effort to fix. Find this 1966 Volvo 1800S for sale in Philadelphia, PA for $5,500 via turbobricks.

Italian Cheapskate: 1991 Alfa Romeo 164L

Two thousand pages of Uncle Sam's greenbacked promissory notes doesn't buy much in a car these days. Just about anything that passes your local inspection requirements and can be driven home is worth more than $2k...but what if I said you could get a future classic for $2k that comes from Italy and has a manual gearbox? Find this 1991 Alfa Romeo 164L offered for $1999 in Santa Cruz, CA via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck.

Daily Driver: 1986 Volvo 760 Turbo

The Volvo 700 series was the last total redesign iteration of Volvo's boxy sedan platform that started with the 140 series way back in 1966.  The 740s were even powered by the B-series redblock inline-4s (which was an overhead cam replacement for the older B18/B20) and 760s were V6 or diesel inline-6 powered...or 4-banger turbo powered like this next one.  Find this 1986 Volvo 760 Turbo offered for $2500 in Sunnyvale, CA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

Sport Luxury Coupe: 1993 Volkswagen Corrado SLC VR6

The Volkswagen Corrado was a oddball in VW's 1980s/90s lineup.  It somewhat replaced the aging 2nd gen Scirocco, but not really and it wasn't much sportier than a Golf GTI...so what was it?  A VR6 powered Golf chassis based 3-door with a 179 horsepower 12-Valve VR6 motor...forget the why and just enjoy! Find this 1993 Volkswagen Corrado SLC VR6 offered for $5000 in Las Cruces, NM via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck.
