I've loved the idea of owning an Alfa GTV for...I dunno...as long as I can remember driving or riding in cars. I don't normally like the look of cars when they are painted white. We were supposed to have flying cars by now. Everyone promised it. I've watched Blade Runner and Running Man many times (both were set in a 2019 future) and they showed all kinds of hovering and flying cars, but here I am and the closest thing is a LiteStar/Pulsar that was built in the 1980s. If we could just convince these millennials to stop playing Fortnite and focus on engineering flying cars, I'd by floating around in the sky right now instead of hacking on a keyboard. This next car comes from tipper Jon who writes: Here is a clean 1986 Ford LTD looking very ex-police car in white with bordello-red interior. The only potential downer might be the engine under the hood - these things came with either a wheezing 4 banger, a straight 6, a bigger v6 or the 5 liter Windsor v8. Consumers are strange folks. Particularly car buyers. And major manufacturers are strange folks too...but they know a thing or two about selling junk to people. Sometimes, it doesn't matter if what you are selling is horrible, as long as you give people the opportunity to accidentally stumble into your store -- just look at how many Chase Banks, CVS/Pharmacys, Burger King, and Starbucks that you've got to drive past to get a quality bank/pharmacy/burger/coffee. There was a time when auto dealers used that same technique to keep long obsolete brands like Plymouth, Mercury, Oldsmobile, and Saturn alive and churning cash, but the 2007 carpocalypse murdered them and NOW the remaining auto brands are using a similar technique with the dreaded SUV. Fill enough Toyota showrooms with RAV4s and shockingly the little SUV beat the Camry in sales to everyday Joes in America least year, even though the Camry is a more usable/driveable 
I was, of course, bummed when I heard that the Crown Vic Police Interceptor was going to be retired from fleet use (this was a few years ago). First is that it's iconic silhouette was easy to spot compared to the various sedans and SUVs (that are used to issue fines to the unaware for driving with the flow of traffic), but also because it was a source of inexpensive transportation for those in the know. And the new replacement (Dodge Charger, etc) vehicles demanded a premium...but thankfully the magic depreciation fairy waved her wand and the prices of Hemi powered ex-Police Chargers are very reasonable. The Skystice (Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky) was Detroit's answer to the super successful Mazda MX-5 Miata. Typical GM feature bloat meant the Solstice/Sky wasn't as lean a fighting machine as the MX-5, but the podium in SCCA club racing in T2 class for 2007, 2008, & 2009 gives it a certain degree of street cred. The turbo GXP model is the one to get if you want something with some turbo power, but the basic model has decent grunt from the 177 horsepower 2.4 liter Ecotec 4-banger and they are cheap, cheap, cheap!
