For years and years, the 105 series based Alfa Romeo Berlina could be bought for next to no money.  These cars are the poor mans substitute for the Giula Super sedan or handsome GTV coupe and share the same basic goodness of the two cars.  The upright styling and acres of glass greenhouse stands out like a sore thumb among most any modern car.  This cars 1750 engine has the reputation for being a bit more rev happy than the later torquier 2000 version of the engine.  Find this 1969 Alfa Romeo Berlina for sale in Reading, PA for budget friendly ask of $3,500 via craigslist.

I'm going to admit that I've always found the styling of the Alfa Romeo Berlina (1750 or 2000) to be a bit on the awkward side. 20k: Classy: 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta TI Berlina

The Alfa Romeo Giulietta tipo 750/101 was a gorgeous piece of Italian art built by Alfa Romeo from 1954 to 1965.  The Berlina was the sedan version that isn't seen as often as the Sprint (coupe) or Spider (convertible), but is cool nonetheless.  This particular example is the more desirable TI (Turismo Internazionale) Berlina and has been freshly imported from Italy.  Find this 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta TI Berlina offered here on eBay offered for $24,500 buy-it-now or make-offer located in New Egypt, NJ.  Tip from Ignacio.

5k: In Good Company: 1971 Lancia Fulvia Berlina 1.3

The Fulvia Berlina was a sedan built by Lancia based out of Torino, Italy from 1963 to 1976.  Lancia Automobile S.p.A. was founded in 1906 by Vincenzo Lancia and was an independent OEM (original equipment manufacturer) until 1969 when it was acquired by Fiat, but that doesn't mean you should identify it as an Alfa Romeo Other in your eBay listing.  It insulting to Italians and is the equivalent of saying that all Italians are gangsters, or that Sicilians are descendants of Italians who mated with monkeys.  Just because it has four headlights and a boxy exterior, breaks bones for a living, or is hairier than Chewbacca does not make it an Alfa, mafioso, or simian, respectively.  Find this 1971 Lancia Fulvia Berlina 1.3 here on eBay currently bidding for $4,150 reserve-not-met with a few hours to go, located in New Egypt, NJ.

3k: Vintage Wrecker: 1973 Alfa Romeo 2000 Berlina

The Alfa Romeo 2000 was released in 1971 as an updated version of the 1750 Berlina (sedan).  Strangely enough, in 1972 the Milanese manufacturer released the Alfetta sedan, which by all means was intended as a replacement for the aging Berlina, but sales of the 1750/2000 continued through 1977.  Today the 1750/2000 cars are a great alternative to a BMW 2002 or Datsun Bluebird if you prefer admiring and working on your classic instead of driving it, but prices are high.  There is a fine line between a valued vintage classic with racing pedigree and a torn up pile of parts, but this one falls squarely into parts pricing...provenance to be determined.  Find this 1973 Alfa Romeo 2000 Berlina offered for $3,500 in Redwood City, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Fueltruck.

 The Lancia Appia was a small family sedan built from 1953 to 1963 as the Turin, Italy based manufacture's basic offering.  The Appia was named for the famous Via Appia, a road built in pre-Christian Rome to connect regions to the south of the Eternal City, and described by 1st century Roman poet Publius Papinius Statius in his book The Silvae as ""the Appian way is the queen of the long roads."  What better name for a classy Italian car that would be great for a long journey.  Find this 1959 Lancia Appia Series II Berlina offered for $5,500 in Santa Cruz, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy.
