Seller Submission: 1971 Mercury Capri w Turbocharged LSX

The first generation Mercury Capri was a rebranded Ford Capri from Cologne, Germany that was sold at North American Lincoln-Mercury dealers from 1970 through 1977.  Interestingly enough, the Capri was not badged as a Mercury, Lincoln, or even a Ford, but it did get a selection of inline-4 and V6 power that was appropriate for the US market.  However, if you want one that will keep up in a drag race with the V8 powered muscle cars that invade parking lots across America every summer weekend morning, you might want to take a look at this next thing.  Find this 1971 Mercury Capri w Turbocharged LSX offered for $12,000 in Rising Sun, MD via craigslist.  Seller submission from John.

Red everywhere- 1977 Cadillac Coupe de Ville

How does this sound to you? Red paint, red landau roof, red leather seats, red carpet, red dash, and red steering wheel.  This downsized 1977 coupe is to the color red as golfer Ricky Fowler is to the color orange.  Find this 1977 Cadillac Coupe de Ville for sale for $12,500 via Northwest CT craigslist.

Green Machine: 1996 Ford Taurus SHO

For the 1996 model year, the Ford Taurus SHO was completely re-envisioned by the madmen at Ford's Special Vehicles Team.  Gone was the revv happy Yamaha tuned V6 mated to an optional 5-speed and in its place was a 3.4 liter V8 attached to a 4-speed automatic.  If you are willing to live with an automatic gearbox, the third generation SHO is certainly a more refined and slightly faster car than the previous generation.  Find this 1996 Ford Taurus SHO offered for $3,295 in La Mesa, CA via craigslist. Tip from Steven.

Needs Restoration: 1963 Lancia Flavia PF

Find this 1963 Lancia Flavia PF here on eBay offered for $8,500 buy-it-now or make-offer, located in Wylie, TX with 15 days to go.

Rather than spend a gazillion dollars on a side-by-side or Escalade-themed golf cart, find this 1972 Suzuki LJ20 for sale in Concord, NC for $2,800 via craigslist.

Only One In Town: 1967 Volkswagen Vokaro Kit Car

The first time I saw a picture of a Volkaro kit was a few days ago on Oddimotive where VW based car was listed as a home-built custom, but somebody on reddit pointed out that it was Vokaro.  Imagine my surprise when another of these oddities appeared on eBay.  Find this 1967 Volkswagen Vokaro Kit Car here on eBay bidding for $3,550 reserve-not-met with 3 days to go, located in Lake Oswego, OR.

Cursed: 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Van

Unlike everything else posted on these pages, this next feature is a car that you don't want to own, but I'm going to post it because the description is priceless.  The short version is that the van is likely cursed and has crashed into multiple objects, including a John Deere tractor, and a loaner vehicle -- just read the ad for yourself. Find this 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Van offered for $750 in Keysville, VA via craigslist.

Coffee Brake: Red Bull Global Rallicross Round 10 - Seattle

Rallicross got is start in the UK as a way to bring the best elements of stage rally to the masses without the need to trek into the countryside to catch the action.  In the US it was a niche of a niche until 2009 when a rallicross was added to the X-games.  Out of that grew the US-based Red Bull Global Rallicross series.  The series made a stop to the spiritual home of stage rally in the US, the Pacific Northwest.   The Seattle round of the GRC was held at Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA just outside of Seattle.  Some guy in a turbocharged, 4WD, 600hp "Beetle" won it.

Thanks Red Bull Global Rallicross

Datsun Powertrain Swap: 1948 Crosley Wagon

Cincinnati Reds owner Powel Crosley Jr entered the automotive market in 1939 with a two-door convertible that cost $250 and was powered by a 2-cylinder Waukesha engine.  A few years later Crosley built their own engines and the little sports car versions did surprisingly well in SCCA racing, but today's Crosley is extraordinarily zippy. Find this 1948 Crosley Wagon here on eBay offered for$8,200 buy-it-now or make-offer located in El Cajon, CA.

Cheaper By The Pound: 1946 Hudson Super Six Sedan

The Hudson you see here was produced after the end of WWII but before the introduction of Hudson's revolutionary step-down unibody construction started in 1948.  Today's example seems like a great price for a car that runs and drives, even though it needs serious restoration.  Find this 1946 Hudson Super Six Sedan here on eBay for $5,500 buy-it-now or make-offer, located in La Habra, CA.

Anyone Coming to the Absolution Brewing Live Show Tomorrow?

Shout out in the comments if you are going to the show tomorrow. We will have freebies and DT gear to give away.

Boosted : 2001 Audi S4

Owning a B5 generation Audi S4 is a bit like dating that red headed girl in college -- you knew it was a terrible idea going into it, and you could only hope that the thrill of the ride is worth the heartache and consequences when the house of cards comes crashing down in a pile of flaming cards -- who doused these playing cards with lighter fluid anyway?  Find this 2001 Audi S4 here on eBay bidding for $5,100 reserve-not-met with 3 days to go, located in New Britain, CT.

Hard Top Life: 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Convertible

The 996 generation Porsche 911 was introduced in 1998 with a watercooled engine, but it was the styling that looked just like the little Boxster that really sent Porsche owners into a tizzy. To be perfectly clear, most folks who can afford to plunk down money for a brand new 911 in 1999 couldn't have cared less if the engine was cooled by air, water, or beluga caviar, just as long as the thing looked like money.  Find this 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Convertible here on eBay bidding for $7,202 with 4 days to go, located in Naugatuck, CT.

Lifestyles of the Poor and Famous: 1963 Volvo PV544

This next car is touted by the seller as "RARE and AMAZING" (ALLCAPS ARE HIS) which might be a bit of a stretch, but it seems like an awfully nice car for the money, but not one bit awful.  Find this 1963 Volvo PV544 offered for $8,500 in Oakland, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy.

Mid Week Match-Up: Fresh Kiwi

Today's Mid Week Match-Up request comes from Philipp and Nora, friends of DT who are traveling around the world like modern day versions of Marco Polo.  After moving anything they couldn't stuff into a few suitcases into long term storage, they left their home in the Alps for a yearlong sabbatical starting in North American and meandering south (you can follow their exploits here).  After a stop in Cuba, and various other unsavory exotic Central American locales, they have hitchhiked to Australia where they are living on Kangaroo meat, but the next stop is New Zealand, which is where they need our help.  Philipp and Nora need a camper style van for about $4,000 USD ($5500 NZD) that they can buy, drive/live-in for a few months in New Zealand and then sell when the wind blows in another direction.

Do You See One Oh Seven? 1975 Mercedes-Benz 280SLC

Most of the best deals on cars for sale around the web come from private sellers, but occasionally a car ends up at a small dealer or private consignment shop that is still desirable despite the undesirable price markup.  But, everybody's gotta eat, right?  Find this 1975 Mercedes-Benz 280SL offered here on eBay for $13,900 in Pleasanton, CA.

Survivor In Blue: 1971 MG MGB GT

I've said it before and I will say it again -- five large doesn't get you much in a classic chrome bumper coupe/fastback these days, so it gets my attention when something well preserved hits this magic low water mark.  Find this 1971 MG MGB GT offered fir $4,800 in San Diego, CA via craigslist.

Mistaken identity- 1995 Acura Integra TSX conversion

Have you ever had an idea to turn one car model into another?  I am guessing the majority of you answered no as well.  This hasn't stopped someone from customizing a two door hatchback Aura Integra into looking like a Acura TSX four door sedan.  The end result ends up being a love child of a Mini Cooper Coupe', Acura RSX, and Alfa Romeo SZ.  Find this one of a kind 1995 Acura Integra for sale in Southbury, CT for $6500.
