DTM5 Update / Blue Glove Tool Review: Eastwood Fender Roller

That's right, the DTM5 is still alive and well. You may remember my black-on-black 1993 E34 M5 from previous posts, but if not, check them out here. Up to this point I've dynoed the car, diagnosed and fixed the fuel delivery issue, shod it with sticky new tires, and straightened out the power seats. Can you guess where this is going? I've been focusing on functionality, with the goal of hitting a local track day in this Autobahn stormer. One major quirk was left unresolved however - a nasty sounding tire rub at the right rear fender lip. From 1991 through 1996 Dodge built a few boat loads of an abysmal family sedan on a stretched version of the Chrysler K-car, and badged it as the Dodge Spirit.  Most have mercifully been crushed into compact cubes for a trip to China to be recycled into the metal containers that hold the ass gaskets (Texas t-shirt, North Hollywood horse collar, paper cowboy hat, baloney in a butt-seat sandwich...whatever those things are called) above the toilet in a public restroom.  However, there was one particular flavor of the Spirit that is actually worth sparing from the jaw of the crusher -- the limited production (1208 built) '91-'92 R/T.  Find this 1991 Dodge Spirit R/T offered for $4,000 in St Louis, MO via craigslist.

 You might consider yourself lucky if you've ever had the opportunity to own Subaru's first modern halo car, known as the Alcyone in Japan or the SVX here in the USA.  If you take a photograph of Italian Giorgetto Giugiaro's beautiful body shape, you might find that the view isn't what you'd expected, and what you really need is to lower the camera by about 3/4's of an inch.  The list of cars that make yesterday's Volkswagen Rabbit seem fast and appear macho is short...but the Suburu 360 Ladybug is guaranteed a spot.   The Subaru 360 microcar was built by Fuji Heavy Industries from 1958-1971.  It has a similar rear engine layout, roomy interior and brutal slowness of the Fiat 500 classic, but somehow it misses the hipster love that is thrown at the Italian car...which is fine because nice examples are cheap.  Find this 1970 Subaru 360 Deluxe offered for $8,000 in Gardena, CA via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck.

15k: Ital-mer-ish: 1973 Jensen Interceptor Mk III

The Jensen Interceptor makes for an interesting statement in a classic car. It tells the world that you like classic American V8 power, Italian styling, and British execution.  Taken by each component, it really makes sense, but as a whole the Jensen is not extremely collectible and is sort of unloved step-child of the British car community.  Is the mix breeding the problem, or are there other forces at play?  Find this 1973 Jensen Interceptor Mk III here on eBay currently bidding for $15,200 reserve-not-met with a few hours to go.

3k: Dead Tortoise: 1979 Volkswagen Rabbit Mk 1 Diesel
