Cheap Alcyone: 1992 Subaru SVX

I'm going to admit that I like strange features on cars...but if you read this website you probably share love of strange design elements.  Take half windows for instance, these are certainly less usable than a regular window, but it is a design feature shared exotics like the McLaren F1, Lamborghini Countach and DMC DeLorean....and it can be found in something as cheap as a used Subaru SVX. Yes, that is indeed a good thing. Find this 1992 Subaru SVX offered for $3700 in Eastville, CA via craigslist. Tip from Erik202.

Black Sheep: 1994 Subaru SVX LSi

You know what, I don't care your what people will think of me after I say this...but I like the Subaru SVX.  It is easy for a car enthusiast to profess his love of cars of legend, who doesn't love an NSX, Testarossa, 911 -- and easier still to claim you don't like certain overly-popular cars like the E30 M3, Countach, 911...but it is difficult to admit you like the cars where the concept was awesome and the execution was meh.  These are the cars that magazines raved about at press release, a few were snapped up, but buyer enthusiasm dropped off soon after. The Pontiac Fiero is one of those cars (nope, not admitting I like those...), same with Scionbaru BRZ/FRS, but to me the ultimate black sheep car is the Giorgetto Giugiaro designed SVX and is my secret crush.  Find this 1994 Subaru SVX LSi here on eBay offered for $5,500 buy-it-now located in Wallingford, CT with 10 days to go.

5k: Anatomy of an eBay Listing: 1992 Subaru SVX LSI

You might consider yourself lucky if you've ever had the opportunity to own Subaru's first modern halo car, known as the Alcyone in Japan or the SVX here in the USA.  If you take a photograph of Italian Giorgetto Giugiaro's beautiful body shape, you might find that the view isn't what you'd expected, and what you really need is to lower the camera by about 3/4's of an inch. Logically, you step out of your boots, back a few steps and click...snap...wrrrr...perfection.  Find this 1992 Subaru SVX LSI here on eBay currently bidding for $4,950 reserve-not-met with $6,950 buy-it-now located in Alexandria, OH with 4 days to go.

49 of 50: Eileen: 1992 Subaru SVX w/ 5-spd Manual

Why is it that humans always save the worst for last?  Kids will eat every bit of yummy mac 'n' cheese to only stare at the overcooked and now cold broccoli and despair.  It was DT's darkest hour and we just couldn't find a single manual transmission'd Subaru SVX...but a light flickered at the end of the tunnel.  A google search reaveled the common use of WRX transmissions for SVX 5-spd swaps and a new door of opportunity was opened.  Former tipper Kaibeezy, now turned DT un-paid intern found this Eileen with standard gearbox with only minutes to spare.  Take a look at this 1992 Subaru SVX w/5spd manual for sale in Nevada City, CA for $6,500 via craigslist.  Please, take a really good look because it took a LONG LONG time to find...

5k: Autotragic Alcyone: 1994 Subaru SVX LSI

The Subaru SVX was known as the Alcyone in its home market of Japan - named for the brightest start in the Pleiades cluster that is prominently featured on the nose of older Subarus and  pronounced "el-SIGH-uh-nee."  The last time we featured an SVX engine it was in a GC-chassis Impreza set up for rally.  Find this 1994 Subaru Alcyone SVX LSI for sale in San Jose, CA for $3000.  Tip from...you guessed it...Kaibeezy!
