Cheap Alcyone: 1992 Subaru SVX

I'm going to admit that I like strange features on cars...but if you read this website you probably share love of strange design elements.  Take half windows for instance, these are certainly less usable than a regular window, but it is a design feature shared exotics like the McLaren F1, Lamborghini Countach and DMC DeLorean....and it can be found in something as cheap as a used Subaru SVX. Yes, that is indeed a good thing. Find this 1992 Subaru SVX offered for $3700 in Eastville, CA via craigslist. Tip from Erik202.

Thursday Twister: Looks Good Parked

Today's Thursday Twister subject is all about the show and no go.  Find us the best car for looking at, but it is sorta terrible to drive. What car do you want in your garage, but not on the road?

A Bright Star: 1989 Subaru XT6

There is a certain niche in late model classics cars that aren't particularly fast or engaging to drive, but they are interesting nonetheless.  Think Audi Quattro, Ford EXP, Cadillac Allante, Chevrolet Fiero...but one of my favorites (from an aesthetic point of view) has got to be Subaru's XT/XT6 which was a predecessor to the Subaru SVX and went by the name Alcyone in Japan. Find this 1989 Subaru XT6 here on eBay bidding for $1,500 reserve-not-met with 2 days to go, located in Middleburg, FL.

5k: Anatomy of an eBay Listing: 1992 Subaru SVX LSI

You might consider yourself lucky if you've ever had the opportunity to own Subaru's first modern halo car, known as the Alcyone in Japan or the SVX here in the USA.  If you take a photograph of Italian Giorgetto Giugiaro's beautiful body shape, you might find that the view isn't what you'd expected, and what you really need is to lower the camera by about 3/4's of an inch. Logically, you step out of your boots, back a few steps and click...snap...wrrrr...perfection.  Find this 1992 Subaru SVX LSI here on eBay currently bidding for $4,950 reserve-not-met with $6,950 buy-it-now located in Alexandria, OH with 4 days to go.

5k: Autotragic Alcyone: 1994 Subaru SVX LSI

The Subaru SVX was known as the Alcyone in its home market of Japan - named for the brightest start in the Pleiades cluster that is prominently featured on the nose of older Subarus and  pronounced "el-SIGH-uh-nee."  The last time we featured an SVX engine it was in a GC-chassis Impreza set up for rally.  Find this 1994 Subaru Alcyone SVX LSI for sale in San Jose, CA for $3000.  Tip from...you guessed it...Kaibeezy!
