find a random picture of a car and you get to guess what it is. Last week's DeTomaso Guara engine picture was quickly solved by Arthur Richardson, but this time I'm going for an exterior picture. Stare at this section of a car and figure out what it is. Good luck.

DeleteIt is deceiving - the shape of the windshield, cowl / hood shutline, and fender radius to the cowl is all very reminiscent of a Volvo 240. Main difference is the door / fender gap is much too far forward, and the base of the windshield is a bit too far back. Volvo never put the antenna there on the 240 but of course it could've been aftermarket.
DeleteIt's either a Peugeot Bipper Tepee Outdoor or Mohs Ostentatienne Opera Sedan. For sure.

DeleteI saw curved windshield and thought "pfffft too easy, Saab 900". Then I saw the hood and realized this was not the case.

I'm going to guess that it's some variety of Ford, but that's about as far as I can go with it.

DeleteNice work. Not having a DL to compare, I thought for sure TRD was right, nevertheless. The turn of the windshield, the shape of the antennae base, and y'all's live for All Things Thor had me convinced. Well played, sir.

ReplyDeleteI'm confused, as usual. There are motorized seatbelts in this car? And it's a Mark 1 Capri? They had those in 1974 and before? Help me, Ronda!
DeleteWHERE did I come up with the motorized belts? Sheesh. Lame.
DeleteAnd you know why this picture was taken at this angle? Because they all rust there at the cowl. This is a good indication of a solid car. I own a 1973 2000 model. I'm a fan of the "Pinto" (4cyl) engined Capri's, which are lighter and freer revving than the boat anchor Cologne V6 we got here in the states.
