A few years ago if you'd seen a listing for a 2002 tii missing its kugelfisherkelminmagrahota fuel injection system and needing paint for around $7k, you'd have scoffed at it. Ha! Today, the inflated dollar and overpriced vintage BMW market means that sub $10k 2002 tiis are few and far between, kugelfridgeratormesscherschmidt or not. Find this 1974 BMW 2002 tii offered for $7,900 in Burlington, NC via craigslist. Tip from Dascpu. The tii badge on the back of a "New Class" BMW indicates that it is equipped with Kegelcrunchfisher mechanical fuel injection, larger oil feed/return lines, big brake discs/booster and a few other mechanical goodies. Only 7500 of the tii edition were made for the US market and today they demand a significant premium over a standard 1600/2002. The 2.0 liter inline four in this el-cheapo version is the same engine that puts out 130 horsepower in the over-restored 30-large asking price examples for sale.
The Momo steering wheel is probably a better way to drive in a tii, even if it isn't stock, but the set of Turkish floor mats on steel really completes the derelict (pronounced der-el-eeeck-t) look.

Yeah, back when every BMW looked like a double-ended forklift.
ReplyDeleteYou could stage a small Broadway production on that front stage as you go down the road.
