Bait-n-Switch: 1967 Cadillac Eldorado Carbeque Project

Ahh, the old bait-n-switch, a craigslist classic.  But todays bait-n-switcher leads with a picture of a gorgeous 50s Cadillac Eldorado with matching custom trailer built from the rear end of another Eldo -- classy stuff.  Unfortunately, not only is this listing only for the rear end, but it a pile of rust, and from a '67 Eldorado.  Carbeque, indeed..but at least the price is right.  Find this 1967 Cadillac Eldorado Carbeque Project offered for $50 in Novato, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy.

Time to Pass the Torch: 1976 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser

Update, Nov. 24 2015: The asking price on this sweet little FJ40 has been lowered to $15k. Check it out...

From Nov. 17th 2015: Toyota's little FJ40 Land Cruiser was not first in the line of offroad vehicles from Japan's #1 automaker, and it certainly wasn't the last, but it was one of the most prolific. Out of the wide variety of all-terrain vehicles - from farm implement simple to cushy marshmallow luxurious - the FJ40 leans heavily towards the former end of the spectrum, which might help to explain its perennial classic status. This is the generation where Toyota beat Jeep at its own game, and if you want one, one of our longtime friends has a great example for sale. Find this 1976 Toyota Land Cruiser (FJ40) for sale in Newbury Park, CA for $17,500 via Craigslist. Seller Submission from Andrew.

Thankful For Tips! 1993 Mazda Miata MX-5

Sometimes when a hot tip comes in, I feel like one of those stock traders on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, yelling and shaking some stack of papers in the air.  BUY BUY BUY!!  I'm pretty sure everything related to the NYSE is now done via computerized training and those guys on the floor are just paid actors so the evening news has some footage to show when covering the latest IPO for some hyper valued company that gives away an iphone app designed to help you spread STDs or pics of your junk around the globe. SELL SELL SELL!!  Anyway, this next feature is a strong buy and fresh from the presses (5 hours old as of publication)-- find this 1993 Mazda Miata MX-5 offered for $1,000 in Ojai, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Sean S.

Go Anywhere Motorhome: 1989 Chevrolet G20 Falcon Intervec 4X4

This next feature has so many names listed in the title section that I really don't know what to call it.  Let's break it down:  Chevrolet -- got it, GM; G20 -- Third generation passenger van, built from 1976-1996; Falcon -- like the Millenium Falcon...no, Falcon was a model of converted van by Intervec; Intervec -- was short form name of the now defunct International Vehicles Corporation which created custom motorhomes from vans; 4X4 -- 4 wheel drive.  Got it?  Find this 1989 Chevrolet G20 Falcon Intervec 4x4 Motorhome here on eBay bidding for $14,100 located in Salem, OR.

Three Wheels of Death: 1972 Honda ATC-90

I think for most of us, our first experience with wheeled transportation that we could control was the ubiquitous red tricycle.  For the truly lucky, it was the Big Wheel (I think Ken Block must have had one of the ones with the handbrake). But, did you know, that three wheeler was actually waiting to kill you?  You were lucky you didn't taste death right there. It's a miracle we all managed to survive.  Find this 1972 Honda ATC-90 for sale in Tacoma, WA for $750 via craigslist.

Why So Cheap? 2001 BMW M3 E46

As the E30 M3 market continues to rise the inevitable question is when will the E36 M3 market follow suit...and it's possible that low mile E36 examples are already on the rise, but the bigger question is, has the E46 M3 market hit rock bottom?  If not, how low can it possibly go?  Find this 2001 BMW M3 E46 offered for $8,000 in New Canaan, CT via cars.com.  Tip from Steven.

Do The DEW: 2004 Lincoln LS V8

If you've ever wondered why the Toyota T100 was not superseded by the T150 (as initially planned by Toyota) but by something called the Tundra -- you're looking at the reason.  Well, not the actual reason, but a part of the funny business around the turn of the 21st century.  Ford wanted to release a Lincoln version of the DEW98 platform (Jag S-Type, Ford T-Bird) called the LS6 and LS8, but Lexus claimed it was too close to the name of their LS400/LS430 at the same time as parent company Toyota was releasing the Toyota T150 pickup...so Toyota changed the name to Tundra and Lincoln called it the LS V6 and LS V8.  Find this 2004 Lincoln LS V8 here on eBay offered for $5,200 buy-it-now or make-offer located in Studio City, CA.

2-Seater Targa: 1986 Jaguar XJ-SC

The Jaguar XJS was built, in what can only be described as an extraordinary 20 year run, from 1976 through 1996.  Sure, the chassis received some improvements, the engines had to be continuously upgraded to meet emissions/performance requirements, and the styling was evolved -- but at the end of the day, it's easy to mistake a '96 for a '76.  Today's XJS is a rare example of the '86 and '87 model year only "Laundaulet" example that looks something like a Baur Targa, but was called the XJ-SC.  Find this 1986 Jaguar XJ-SC offered for $2,450 in Chatsworth, CA via craigslist.

What Am I? Another Turkey

Welcome to a special Thanksgiving week What Am I? feature.  You might think you'll get a turkey and end up with the bird...but you shouldn't be surprised if you spend any time on this website.  Anyway, your job is to find out what car this picture comes from.

Recent Resto: 1978 Ford F-150 Ranger

A wise man once told me to never buy a car that has recently been painted (new or used) -- but what's wrong with taking advantage of the previous guy's time, money, or painting skills?  The answer, of course, is nothing, but be sure to check and double check the quality of the paint job, lest you get stuck with a Earl Scheib spray 'n' pray that looks like a 10 year old Nissan after 6 months.  Find this 1978 Ford F-150 Ranger here on eBay bidding for $4,050 reserve-not-met with 8 days to go, located in Nampa, ID.

DT's Take on BaT Auction: 1993 BMW M5 Touring

No, you don't need to adjust your PC, iMac, or mobile device. You're looking at a Bring a Trailer auction car on Daily Turismo. We like to think we don't compete with BaT - they are clearly in the business of making large sums of cash, and we are more about entertainment - so why not analyze one of their exclusive auctions? Not to mention, this one is the most interesting of their recent auctions to me personally, by far.  Find this 1993 BMW E34 M5 Touring for sale in Knoxville, TN with bidding near $30k and over 4 days to go on BringaTrailer.com.

The Harley Earl designed Oldsmobile 98 (spelled out as Ninety-Eight after 1961) was the flagship model from Oldsmobile starting in 1941.  The second generation was released (with restyling all around) for the 1942 model year, but that design was used again after the war for the 1946 and 1947 model years.  Find this 1947 Oldsmobile 98 here on eBay bidding for $11,300 with 1 day to go, located in Ft Lauderdale, FL.

Don't you love it when you find clean low mile examples of undesirable cars offered for cheap?  Sure, you might feel guilty for the poor sap who spent a bunch of his hard earned cash when he purchased this thing new and only put 20k miles on it...but look at the minty clean convertible you can buy for the price of a high end 4K flat panel television.  Who needs high-def when you can experience life in real-def?  Find this 1988 Chrysler Lebaron offered for $3,500 in Concord, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy.

Forza Beige: 1978 FIAT 131 Mirafiori Wagon

When I started this post I was looking for a chrome bumper 124 Spider to contrast with the (disappointingly hideous) Fiata and I stumbled upon this:  Behold, the beige unicorn!  No way I could not post this.  I can't remember the last time I saw a 131, let alone a wagon.  I'm at a loss for words.  Find this 1978 FIAT 131 Mirafiori Wagon for sale in Santa Anna, CA for $6,000 via craigslist.
