Luxo F-150: 2006 Lincoln Mark LT Pickup

Lincoln first released their attempt at the luxury pickup in 2002 with the Blackwood...which didn't sell many (3300 according to interweb sources) and was canceled within 15 months of launch.  The product planners at Lincoln were still convinced they could sell a gussied up F-150..and in 2005 they released the Mark LT...which then lasted till 2008 with something like 10,000 sold per year...which wasn't bad, but not good enough to survive the carpocalypse.  Anyway, find this 2006 Lincoln Mark LT Pickup offered for $3950 in Cape Coral, FL via craigslist.  Tip from Dascpcu.

This next truck comes as a tip from Matt C who writes: Came very close to asking the seller about this one myself, but didn't have room to keep a truck this big until first gen Lightnings are worth real money. I wonder if I'll be kicking myself for passing this up in a decade or so.  I don't know if you'll need a decade to kick yourself for passing on this Lightning...because I almost called the seller instead of posting it!! Patina Princess: 1986 Ford F-150

This next car comes as a tip from SecondMouse who writes: I love finding vehicles like this. Cheap, well loved and cared for, with a certain nostalgia and utility. Like this 1986 Ford F-150 longbed. This is a one-family vehicle, and as a mid-80's pickup, they don't get much more legit than this, with only 86,000 original miles and a price tag of $3500. Beasty Boat: 2007 Lincoln Navigator L

I don't know how often you guys drive new cars, but I'm always impressed at the way the new large vehicles drive -- they don't have the ponderous heft that 6000 lb trucks had from a few years ago...maybe its modern technology, maybe its some magic, but it is nice...not nice enough to justify the monstrous price tag when new...but wait 10-12 years and suddenly...it might make sense.  Take the third generation Lincoln Navigator, for instance -- it rides on the Ford F-150/Expedition chassis and seats 7 people in supreme comfort.  A basic rugged SOHC 5.4 liter Triton V8 pushes power to an independent rear end (did the Navigator REALLY get IRS before the Mustang...sheesh) and the long wheelbase version is the one to get.  Find this 2007 Lincoln Navigator L here on eBay offered for $11,495 buy-it-now located in Stafford, TX.

Shift It Yerself: 2000 Lincoln Navigator

The Lincoln Navigator was released in 1998 as the first full sized SUV from Ford's Lincoln brand --but there was precedent for such a vehicle.  The modern plus sized SUV is a direct descendant of the huge family luxury barges from the 1940s/50s/60s -- so this might not look much like a suicide door equipped Continental, but its massive heft, plush ride, and torque says otherwise.  Find this 2000 Lincoln Navigator offered for $2000 in Westland, MI via craigslist.

For this week's Thursday Twister, it is time to name your favorite special edition of a mass market car.  My choice is the SVT Lightning version of the Ford F-Series, which started off as a minor performance package in 1993 and ended up with as a supercharged street menace before being replaced by the Raptor.

Mid Week Match-Up: Toy Hauler For Ckleerun

It is Wednesday, so that means time for another episode of our reader's favorite game of finding out how much you can get for your kids from a group of traveling Gypsies -- also known as  Mid Week Match-Up!  This week's MWMU request comes from Ckleerun who writes:

I am looking for a cheap(ish) and capable "toy hauler" and foul-weather driver.
I found a 16-passenger E250 which, for $3500, would tow a track car and haul a motorcycle inside while doubling (tripling, really) as a bunk. Realistically this type of usage would occur maybe once a year, and my wife's reaction to this level of overkill suggests I need to look elsewhere.
Realistically, all I *need* is something reliable that will tow a minimum of 1000lbs without being too ugly. Bonus points for the ability to tow 5000lbs. (Since "ugly" is subjective, let me state that I'm perfectly okay with a Honda Element.

When Lightning Strikes: 1993 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning

The ninth generation of Ford's legendary F-series pickup was the first to get its own hot rod version -- the SVT Lightning. It was an attempt by Ford to offer a special version of the F-150 for hauling ass instead of hauling logs, and the handling was developed with the assistance of ex-Formula 1 and Scottish clay pigeon shooting champion, Sir Jackie Stewart.  The  SVT Lightning won't exactly keep up with a Cosworth powered Matra through Eau Rouge at Spa, but it is a cheap way to get into an interesting car with a good chance of being collectible some day.  Find this 1993 Ford F-150 SVT Lightning offered for $3,500 in Cincinnati, OH via craigslist.  Tip from FuelTruck. 

'Murica: 2007 Ford F-150 Single Cab

Happy 4th of July -- we here at Daily Turismo are continuing the illegal fireworks, over eating, and skimpy bikinis that have come to signify 'Murica by extending the 4th of July into the 5th of July.  This next feature is just about as patriotic as you can get, but only if you look past the plain white wrapper.  Find this 2007 Ford F-150 Single Cab with a giant American flag mounted in the bed offered for $7,000 in Riverside, CA via craigslist.  

15k: Luxury Truckin: 2002 Lincoln Blackwood

Lincoln had built many cars since the brand was introduced by Henry M. Leland in 1917, but never had the four pointed star emblem been put on a pickup truck.  In 2002 the Lincoln Blackwood was introduced, a re-badged and upgraded version of Ford's popular F-150 pickup.  The production of 3300 of the 2002 Blackwood luxury pickup is fascinating, first because this is a low number to justify tooling/production costs for a large OE like Ford/Lincoln and second because it is shocking you could find that many people to pay $52,000 for an F-150 pickup.  Regardless the Blackwood is cheap on the used market; find this 2002 Lincoln Blackwood for sale in Minden, NV for $15,000 via craigslist.  Tip from Andy L.
