Hold On Here: 1964 Chevrolet Corvair Monza (mid-engine V8)

The term "oh pooh" handle is welcome addition to the passenger side a-pillar to many modern vehicles -- typically SUV's and the sort that might induce pants staining excitement near the edge of a cliff...but I've never seen a full BMX bike style handlebar setup for the passenger until this mid-engine Corvair hit our tips inbox.  Find this 1964 Corvair Monza (mid-engine V8) offered for $14000 in Las Vegas, NV via craigslist.  Tip from Rock On!

Help Me Old B. Juan, You're My Only Hope: 2009 Audi S5

I know, I know, no one can help someone with a problem unless they recognize they have a problem; and they want help.  As a friend, I want to help, but I've given it my best shot and failed.  I'm begging for help from our readers to find suitable alternatives to this Audi S5 a dear friend has fallen in love with, as shown here on Craigslist, in Arkansas for $17,300 (but haggled down to very close to the DT self-imposed limit of $15,000).

Lotus 0.7: 1980 Custom Built Roadster

I have a friend who purchased and assembled a Caterham replica of a Lotus 7 for driving on US roads.  For the sake of anonymity, I will call him Dwood, and this next post is dedicated to him.  I won't say how much Dwood spent on his Caterham, but I'd bet a Buick Roadmaster that it cost more than 10 times the starting bid on this next...ummm...thing...which begs the question...is this car more than 1/10th the experience/fun/death of a Lotus 7? Find this 1980 Custom Built Roadster offered for $5,200 starting bid with $7,200 buy-it-now here on eBay located in Caldwell, ID.

Zero to Hospital in 2.7 Secs: 1989 Acura Death Kart

What did that dude in the Fast and Furious say? I live my life one quarter of a mile at a time. 10 seconds later, I crash and then I'm free. At least that is what he would have said if this had been his whip. Find this 1989 Acura Death Kart offered for $2,000 near Anchorage, AK.  Tip from Zach Z.

Bait-n-Switch: 1967 Cadillac Eldorado Carbeque Project

Ahh, the old bait-n-switch, a craigslist classic.  But todays bait-n-switcher leads with a picture of a gorgeous 50s Cadillac Eldorado with matching custom trailer built from the rear end of another Eldo -- classy stuff.  Unfortunately, not only is this listing only for the rear end, but it a pile of rust, and from a '67 Eldorado.  Carbeque, indeed..but at least the price is right.  Find this 1967 Cadillac Eldorado Carbeque Project offered for $50 in Novato, CA via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy.

10k: Toyota Pickup Based: 1990 Radio Flyer Wagon

I've always said that nothing good has ever come from LA's Inland Empire.  The place is a cultural wasteland, filled with strip mall infested cities named Temecula, Fontana and Rancho Cucamonga (thanks to Jack Benny I will always say that in Mel Brooks' voice) that are cloaked in a caustic layer of sticky smog.  The air is so bad that folks who live the area have reported surprise when they notice the San Gabriel mountains a few miles away after a rare downpour of acid rain clears the sky momentarily.  Within minutes the Mercedes, BMWs and Lexii from Malibu to Monterey Park will once again fill the air with combustion byproducts that will eventually find their way to LA's liver.  Naturally, it is with some shock that I found, in this most detestable of places, what can only be described as the most awesome vehicle ever built. A Radio Flyer Wagon built on a 1990 Toyota Pickup chassis offered for $10,100 in Lake Elsinore, CA via craigslist.

1k: Automotive Purgatory: 1985 Plymouth Reliant

In the second cantica of the Divine Comedy written by Italian Poet Dante Alighieri, the author describes in great detail a trip through the seven terraces of Purgatory (Purgatorio).  Mid way through the 5th Terrace the poem's hero finds himself surrounded by the souls of the covetous, folks who have sinned through embracing things in an unhealthy way.  Here, owners of Porsches, BMWs, Alfas who have neglected their families and friends, are stuck in slushbox equipped Plymouth Reliants on freeway on-ramps. The on-ramps are equipped with traffic metering systems that seem to be functioning, but nobody ever merges onto the freeway.  This is one of those rides.  Find this 1985 Plymouth Reliant in impeccable shape offered for $1,499 in Woodland Hills, CA via craigslist.
