I Don't Wanna Be One: 1989 NIssan Be-1

DT: Well Costello you’ve did it again. You’re always insulting people. I’ve come to the conclusion that you need a new car. What you need is a retro styled Nissan.
KBZ:Nissan?
DT: Yes, for instance, Be-1.
KBZ: Be one what?
DT: Eh, just Be-1.
KBZ: Just be one.
DT: Yes.
KBZ: Are you one?
DT: No.
KBZ: Then why should I be one?
DT: Oh!
KBZ: If it ain’t good enough for you it ain’t good enough for me! What do you wanna do push me into these things by myself?
DT: I’m not pushing you into anything, I’m trying to tell you something that’s good for your commute.
KBZ: Well what is it?
DT: Be-1!
KBZ: But I don’t wanna be one!
DT: I don’t want you to be one!
KBZ: No?
DT: No. When I say be one I don’t mean be one I mean Be-1.
KBZ: Oh when you say be one you don’t mean be one you just mean be one?
DT: That’s right!
KBZ: That’s right? I don’t even know what I’m talking about!
Find this 1989 NIssan Be-1 offered for $11,500 near Seattle, WA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

DTO: Sraight Clown Shooter: 1999 BMW M Coupe

Tip and words from DT Contributor Andy L.  Here is an example of an awesome car that is getting rarer by the day, especially with mileage this low. Clean retail book for this car is $13000, but I don't think it applies to this car.  If you want to be one of the last remaining clown shoe jockeys, you are going to pay a premium.  Find this 1999 BMW M Coupe offered for $28,000 in Lincoln, NE via craigslist. The DTO (Daily Turismo Omologato) is a rare or interesting example of a DT-friendly classic or performance vehicle, but priced somewhere above the self imposed DT cap of $20k.

15k: Butternut Squash: 1999 BMW M Coupe

Genius isn't always recognized in its time.  Vincent Van Gogh only sold 2 of his 2,000+ artistic creations during his lifetime, and committed suicide at age 37 due to his lack of financial success.  Legendary writer Edgar Allen Poe was similarly unsuccessful during his lifetime (found dead in a Alley at 40), but has become one of the most studied American short story authors of his time.  Automobiles have had similar experiences, with examples languishing at dealer lots when new, but scooped up under the intoxicating lights of a BarrettJackson/Mecum auction decades later and BMW's Z3 M-Clownshoe is a great example.  Find this 1999 BMW M Coupe offered for $17,000 near New Haven, CT via craigslist.  Tip from John.

10k: Coulrophobia: 1956 Ford F-100 Genki Mobile

If you have kids, this next feature will probably raise the little hairs on your arms a bit.  It is a tribute to a fictional character from an adult themed video game (Professor Genki from the Saint's Row video game series) but looks like a combination of an ice cream truck and the infamous free candy van. Find this 1956 Ford F-100 Genki Mobile currently bidding for $7,900 here on eBay, located in Agoura Hills, CA.
