The Mercedes-Benz W114/115 chassis is the often overlooked E-class predecessor chassis that is overshadowed by the prettier W108/109 chassis. The big S-Class ancestor W108 with its fancier front end and stacked headlamps is a bargain classic, so the downmarket W114 is forced into an even more compromised market situation...bad news for "collectors" but great news for folks who want to run/drive cheap classics. 15k: Portrait Mode: 1974 Alfa Romeo GT Veloce 2000

It is hard to look at pictures of an Alfa Romeo GTV 105/115 series and not fall in love...well, unless the pictures are taken in blow-your-brains-out 21:9 ratio portrait mode, but even that cannot tarnish the beauty of a red GTV. (DT has cropped the photos to make them more user friendly for human beings and dogs). Find this 1974 Alfa Romeo GT Veloce 2000

20k: Best Swap Ever: 1973 Volvo 1800ES with Honda F20C S2000 Engine

Wondering what happened to the screaming F20C engine and 6-spd gearbox from our last V8 swapped S2000 feature? We have the answer! Well, probably not the exact same drivetrain, but you get the idea. There's absolutely nothing wrong with Volvo's fuel injected B20E engine which came stock in the 1800ES shooting brake, but what if you want a bit more oomph than ~125hp can provide? There's always turbocharging, increased displacement, nitrous, individual throttle bodies, headers, etc. Then of course you could do an engine swap. We've seen V8s in these cars before, but an extremely light and high powered Honda 4-cylinder is completely counter to the cast iron pushrod tractor engine that the car was born with. But so what? The F20C is an awesome piece of F1-inspired engineering that revs to 9000 rpm and makes 240hp out of 2.0 liters - an incredible naturally aspirated specific power of 120bhp/L (Ferarri 458 Italia and Porsche GT3 territory). Find this 1973 Volvo 1800ES with S2000 drivetrain swap here on craigslist in Vallejo, CA for $20k.Monday, April 29, 2013
??K: Red Flag Football? 1966 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible
Every now and then, we come across an Ebay auction that has SOME red flags. We're posting this one to see how many red flags our readers can find in this one. Offered up for our readers' scrutiny is an example of a seller with Zero feedback listing a car that, if one reads closely, they may not even be claiming ownership of. He may in fact be simply writing about how desirable Chevys are. In either event this 1966 Chevy Corvette convertible can be more closely examined on ebay with yo-yo bids ranging from the current $10,000, backwards to canceled bids as high as $145,000!! You'll have to look quickly as this drama is due to close in just a few hours, if not cancelled by the seller before then.

5k: Sweet Utility Vehicle: 1974 Jeep Cherokee SJ 2-Door

The SJ generation Jeep Cherokee was a 2-door 'sporty' version of the Jeep Wagoneer station wagon. The Cherokee also has the dubious honor of claiming to have been the first vehicle to use the term "sporty utility" in its sales brochures, although the SJ chassis is light on sport and heavily tilted to the utility side of the spectrum. Find this 1974 Jeep Cherokee SJ for sale Corona, CA for $4,500 via craigslist.Saturday, March 16, 2013
5k Flash: Sleeper in Seattle; 1980s Volvo 700 with Ford 5.0 V8

We really hate to give the Unsold Adams award to a cool sleeper that hides a V8 under its hood - a literal Fox in Sheep's clothing...but this ad is totally devoid of appropriate information to sell a car. Find this 1980-ish Volvo 700-ish with a Ford 5.0 V8 swap in for sale in Seattle, WA for $3,000 via craigslist.Friday, March 15, 2013
15k: Unsold Adams Award for Worst PIctures!! 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback
DT regulars are aware that we sometimes issue the Ansel Adams Award for outstanding Photography in an Automotive Ad or Auction. Well, today, we're offering the Razzies equivalent of that prestigious award... the Unsold Adams Award for worst presentation of an otherwise sellable car.The seller of this otherwise promise 1968 J-Code Mustang Fastback decided to enroll in Ebay and take a couple of pictures of his apparently abandoned Eleanor/Shelby Tribute car. The seller hails from the Washington, D.C. suburb of Fairfax, VA. and his complete photo-essay, seen here on ebay with bids already at $16,500 with more than a day left to run. Come take a tour through this gallery of horrors!!
